  1. Gold. Whatever, Rammy. Do you have an official membership card to "The Lemons"? No? Then I think Holly's got the upper hand.
  2. ur the man. thanks.
  3. Noooooo, please stay away from the ACC Kansas is looking to move. They could rename the conference the ACMoNC (Atlantic Coast/Middle of Nowhere Conference)
  4. I think that's about as safe a bet as there is. He won't be as bad as Gracie, but I bet he'll be pretty insufferable.
  5. I think it was in 2001, the Cubs won a game vs. the Rockies in a wild, walk-off rundown in which Ricky Gutierrez fell down but scored. It was the same game Angel Hernandez tossed Steve McMichael after Mongo said he was going to "have speaks" with him after the game RE: a blown call. I swear I've seen video of this, but I can't find it. Can anyone help?
  6. Did Beebe pause to take Deloss Dodds' nuts out of his mouth to say that, or did he just say it mid-hummer?
  7. Aggies Rivals site reporting aTm is gonzo.
  8. I'm not saying they shouldn't go to the SEC, I'm saying that there should be some realism about it. Yes, they'll be free of Texas as a conference-mate, and yes, they'll be in a very good position financially. But with that has to come the acknowledgement that you have much less hope of being a consistently big winner in the SEC. It also probably will intensify the recruiting competition in Texas. aTm in the SEC will likely make other SEC teams a more attractive option for Texas high school players. I basically echo TT's sentiment. Sure, it's better to be in a healthy conference like the SEC than it is to be in the Big 12. But the idea of getting out from under Texas's shadow is a little confusing. They'll likely be a middle of the pack program there, too, with even less hope of sustained high-level success.
  9. "I'M SOOOO REEEEEEEEEALLLLLLLLL." http://www.thaindian.com/images/sammy-sosa-after.jpg Though at least he looks normal in that Cialis commercial. He just thought that was his best bet for Cubs fans to embrace him again. Well that was damn funny. classic
  10. The main reason we want to make this move is so that we're no longer the little brother. As long as we stay with Texas that will always be the case. The SECede shirts are over the top but if it helps get the message to our administration that we're fed up with the status quo then it's all good. I guess you won't be little brother anymore. I'm not sure what you'll be in the SEC, though, when you're getting pounded annually by Bama, Florida, LSU, Auburn, etc. Is that really a better move for aTm?
  11. Agreed, can't wait to see Kansas and Mizzou rot away in obscurity along with Iowa State. You guys are weird.
  12. I thought his family seemed a little crazy after he left UI. Didn't his uncle say some sort of crazy stuff about the draft?
  13. Dude is unreal. I thought Washington or somebody random like that was in the lead. I want him bad, but I don't know if we're a real player. You guys gonna get Tarczewski? I don't want him in Tucson. I thought he was a lock for KU. now it sounds like a toss-up. I dunno.
  14. Dude is unreal. I thought Washington or somebody random like that was in the lead. I want him bad, but I don't know if we're a real player.
  15. He retired early so he could admire Mario's championship ring full-time.
  16. 2 days before Reese committed, he was quoted as saying he was definitely going to visit Oregon, Louisville, and KU. Then he committed to aTm. A few hours later, his dad took the job. It's pretty clear the two were related, no matter how hard you want to deny it. And for the record, I'm not upset about it. His dad is a coach. It's within the rules. More power to aTm for doing it. A couple of things you've said have sort of rankled, though. You said if it were as simple as hiring his dad to get him, KU would have done it. But that doesn't make sense, because KU would have had to have fired a coach in order to hire his dad. You also said KU has a long history of doing this. You've done it twice (Jordan, Reese) and KU's done it twice (Manning, Chalmers.) But yeah, we have a long history of it.
  17. that hair is tight
  18. Berglund won't be playing. He'll prob RS. Webb will be the starter with Cummings/Meachum backing him up. If Berglund had been here in Spring it might have been a different story, but I think he's too far behind. I've always thought Cummings was the better prospect anyway, assuming his knee is better.
  19. I like how LaRussa was really pissed at some Brewers fans because they were making fun of his bout with shingles.
  20. In my mind it does. It's one thing to be broadcast on a supposedly neutral ESPN or local channel. It's another to be broadcast on a network branded with only one team. That goes for original broadcasts or rebroadcasts. How do other schools benefit from the Longhorn Network airing games with players they're recruiting? I don't see a lot of benefit for anyone besides UT, though I could be missing something. To some degree, you're right. Texas's recruiting can't get that much better. Schools like KU/ISU/KSU/MU, etc, probably weren't gonna take any recruits UT really wanted. (ETA: that doesn't mean it's okay to make the uphill climb even more impossible.) And schools like OU and, to a lesser degree, aTm, DO go head-to-head with UT for players, and any extra leg up for UT is unfair.
  21. and north carolina's too, just to be thorough.
  22. That's great that his defense is more than fine. The point is, it could be much better than fine simply with more effort. Imagine a guy is hitting .300 without watching a second of video, but could boost that up to .330 if he spent 30 minutes a day studying pitchers. Are you going to be satisfied with the .300, since that's more than fine too? Folks, the real problem with this buffoon is that he has unrealistic expectations for the results that "a little extra effort" will yield. If he thinks watching 30 minutes of game tape will improve someone's batting average 30 points, he probably also thinks a smidge more hustle will turn Soriano into Willie Mays.
  23. I'm pretty excited for football, too, despite the rather grim prospects for KU from a W/L perspective. Gill and co. are doing pretty good work on the recruiting trail, including 2 pretty promising QBs on the same day. The level of talent is getting much better. It just remains to be seen if these guys can coach them effectively. I think we'll be a much better team this year, though our record won't really reflect it.
