  1. maybe they were trying to do you a favor and give you time to rethink your ultra-lame on-campus celebration/party.
  2. Which is more relevant now? TSN or George Michael's Sports Machine?
  3. Kind of a funny article. http://angels.ocregister.com/2011/09/04/the-time-the-giants-called-jerome-williams-the-wrong-name-for-two-entire-years/93887/
  4. You guys should do the same thing to make sure Wichita State doesn't leave the MVC. Why? We might need them to leave so we can get their spot.
  5. Just when you thought conference realignment couldn't get any more absurd, Baylor posts this on their school site: http://www.baylor.edu/nation/index.php?id=84714
  6. Coach Kill is a Gopher now, you'll be fine. Dave Doeren knows what he's doing. And they smoked Army this week. They're favored by a touchdown over us. I think we'll have to play very well to win.
  7. I have a bad feeling we're going to get smashed by Northern Illinois next week. They were pretty good last year and return a lot of their starters.
  8. Despite having the lead, they are getting pushed around in the trenches. Yikes. Our O-line is not getting pushed around at all. Not sure where you're seeing that. D-Line is getting much pressure. I was referring to McNeese moving the ball pretty well a few drives ago. Pierson is impressive. I thought the D-Line was holding its own there. We just couldn't seem to cover those dump off passes. The DLine is getting zero pressure now, though. If you'd have told me we'd be up 21-3 at half before the game, I'd be ecstatic. We're definitely looking better than last year. Probably won't show up in our record.

  10. KU with a quick 3 and out on their first drive. :/
  11. what a choke
  12. Chip Brown says y'all are tagging along with us. The Texas schools have been left out this time around. I haven't seen that article. Color me dubious. I've never understood what MU fans were worried about in this. There's almost no plausible scenario in which they don't end up in a good conference. They may not get their 1st choice (B1G), but they'll land somewhere good.
  13. New dots? Interview with OU's president took him hundreds of words to even mention the big 12, didn't mince words in essentially saying that OU is actively looking at other possibilities. In addition to Gary Pinkel openly addressing that the league has issues, KU's president saying we're not a package deal with Kansas State.
  14. Big 12 is dead. Too many dots point to all the teams scrambling for some kind of escape.
  15. You can always count on KSU's marketing dept to come up with the lamest, most amateurish ideas possible. Power Towels, Eco Enforcers, Decade of Dominance DVDs, "The Octagon of Doom."
  16. Hey, I'm rooting for him to do well (except when he plays Missouri) so I can say "boy, I knew him when" but for three years in high school he played against extremely weak competition and stood around waiting for receivers to get open like Tom Brady in 2007. I just don't think he's going to be very good. Haha, fair enough. Jury is out, no doubt. Having a guy like him starting as a RS SO is not ideal. As a Mizzou fan, you might be lacking a little perspective, though. You guys have been recruiting top QBs for a while. We don't have that luxury. We have to hope smart guys without 4/5* measurables can still compete and win. Luckily the recruiting is getting better with Gill. I think Berglund, Cummings, or one of our two QB recruits this year will ultimately bump him unless he makes huge strides.
  17. Just in time to intercept about 6 of Jordan Webb's pass attempts in the season opener. I still can't fathom that Webb is the starting quarterback for a major conference team. If you mean at this point in his career, I agree. If you mean, ever...I think it's kind of a silly POV. He was a 3 star recruit, and he's not wholly untalented. He was the #28 pro-style QB in his class, ahead of QBs taken by Stanford, Fla St., and a few other ACC schools. But he's not the kind of guy who should be starting as a RS sophomore. He's the kind of guy who should be able to step in 3, 4 years in the program, after he's developed physically. Unfortunately, he's the best we've got at this stage. He has allegedly improved his strength and arm. I watched Webb on and off during his high school career and never got the sense that he was a BCS conference quarterback. He was heads and shoulders above everyone in his area and had been since he was a sophomore, but I never thought he'd be half the player he was against defensive linemen that weight over 200 pounds. Maybe next year he'll really take off, but I think he's a backup who owes his scholarship to playing cupcake schedules and having one of the best head coaches in the state. What do the size of the linemen have to do with his ability to be a QB? He can take a hit from BCS defenders--he took about a billion last year. He's accurate. He's shifty. His arm is adequate. He could be a serviceable qb. He's not a "centerpiece of the offense" QB. And he might not be the perfect fit for Gill's system. But I think he has the tools to be a guy who can help win ball games. He just needs the right pieces around him. I doubt we have the right pieces.
  18. Yes. Or least, allegedly that's what's going on. He's RS this year and can't practice with the team because his legal issues keep dragging him back to CO. Makes sense. Do you think he would've started/gotten decent playing time this year without the charges, or was RS probably in his cards anyways? If he'd have shown up for Spring ball as planned and had that, plus Summer workouts, plus Fall camp, there was a shot to supplant Webb. He supposedly throws a beautiful ball, better than anyone else on the roster. Once he missed spring and summer, i doubt there was much chance he'd win the job.

He has allegedly improved his strength and arm. If the O-Line is healthy, he could be the kind of QB who makes just enough plays. We have enough talent at RB (Bourbon, Miller, Pierson) that he won't be expected to shoulder the load. If he doesn't make enough plays, we have talent coming in behind him, and I expect him to slide down the depth chart next year. Is Bergland sitting out this year because of the assault charges? Yes. Or least, allegedly that's what's going on. He's RS this year and can't practice with the team because his legal issues keep dragging him back to CO.

  22. OU had a reunion game, too. The honorary coaches were Kelvin Sampson and Dave Bliss. No joke. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/basketball/ncaa/08/27/kruger.ou.alumni.game.ap/index.html?sct=cb_t2_a3
  23. explain Looks like everyone did it for me. But seriously, talk to a cop. Distasteful as some may find it, there are apparently certain high-stress situations where a well-dropped N bomb will get the other guy to take notice and take you a little more seriously. Just being honest. wow
  24. I'm not worried about, and I know no one at Texas is. Sick burn, Old Style. Even though it would likely thrust KU into the Big West, I kind of wish UT would go to the SEC, just to watch aTm fans piss down their legs and bitch and moan.
  25. What a dreadful article. And how did Z get the lazy rap? Crazy? Sure. Lazy? no way.
