  1. Me too. I don't think I could stomach a title from the other side of the bracket. Give me a VCU or Butler title. Anyone but Cal. I think I'd rank them VCU Butler UConn __________ please god, no, not either of UK/UNC

  3. Exactly. Shooting was horrible. They didn't D up with any urgency in the first half, and when they finally did in the second half, couldn't cash it in. This only really sucks. I was just thinking last night, I can't believe we may get to a FF/win a championship with Brady Morningstar and Reed as starters. They're good players, but when I think about our last championship, our 2 and 3 were Brandon Rush and Mario Chalmers. That's the kind of talent an elite team has on the perimeter. Still, I can't hate on those guys. They made the most out of their abilities. Just coudln't put it together today.
  4. You are Kansas playing an 11 seed VCU come on. You have almost double the free throws shot as VCU doesn't mean we didn't get hacked constantly. Doesn't really matter. We couldn't hit free throws anyway. They played better than us. They hit shots. And we couldn't adjust to the officiating. They've been hacking and Kansas has been constantly pushing, what's the difference? about 10 points? Just kidding. We lost that game on the perimeter.
  5. Just a terrible showing by all three.

  7. i dont want to be that guy, but man they've been able to push, reach, and shove all day down low. Given that our strengthe is down low, that sorta screwed us.
  8. great free throw shooting today.
  9. that three was game. Reed has been terrible this entire tournament. 1-7 today from three on several wide open looks.
  10. WTF. I guess it's gonna be one of those games.
  11. The crazy thing is, may of the "blue blood programs" seem poised to be looking for a new coach in the next few years. IU--Crean needs results in the next couple of years, right? Some proof the ship is righted. UNC--Roy is getting old. Hell, if they win it this year, I could see him hanging it up. I definitely don't see him lasting more than 5 years. Even that seems like a stretch. Duke--K is no spring chicken either. I don't have a feel for how much longer he's got, but I could see him calling it in the next few years, especially if he makes another title run. UCLA--Natives already seem a little restless out here. Howland needs to start making deeper runs. UK--Seem pretty settled with Cal, but he's always said he didn't want to coach into his old age. KU--Self is young, and it's hard to imagine him going anywhere since he turned down his alma mater. But what if the NBA comes calling (or if the Big 12 goes under and KU ends up in the MVC), I could see him jumping.
  12. For the love of god, can we fire weber and back a truckload of money to this guy's house? No way Tim. That's the exact type of thing that Ron Gunether would never do. Brad could leave us someday. what's the story on Stevens? Is he really a die-hard IU fan like I'm hearing, just waiting for the opportunity to coach there?
  13. wow, butler with back-to-back FFs. That's amazing.
  14. Kentucky is much better than I thought they were.
  15. they won't until Painter gets that extension
  16. now when we bow out, you'll have even more reason to hate us. sweet.
  17. didn't see anything wrong with it. i thought is was packed with well-reasoned, salient points.
  18. Is Arkansas really a better job? The SEC is hot garbage and has been for some time. that's part of what makes it a better job. he'd have half a chance at finishing 2nd or 3rd in that league.
  19. honestly, I think if he goes it's a good opportunity for Mizzou, though it might hurt in the short term. I wasn't sold on him ever really building a legit challenger in the Big 12. I think you know what you're getting with him--a team that can win some games, get you to the tourney, and once a rare while, make a deeper tourney push. There's the danger of hiring a total disaster, but I think the program as a whole has a higher ceiling than what Anderson was likely to reach. It's just a question of making the right hire (duh).

  21. No, definitely not, but I'm not sure who would be on deck to replace him. There's some fans delusional enough to think Mizzou can get Brad Stevens. Hilarious. Every school in the country with an opening or who wants their coach gone thinks they're getting Stevens. The names bandied about on the Tennessee boards are fall-down hilarious. I've yet to see the OU boards mention Stevens. We're too busy talking about bringing Phil Jackson to Norman. Although I have seen some of the yokels seriously suggest people like Self and Dixon... Tennessee's bringing in Larry Brown there was a poster on the KU board wondering if we could lure Brown back to KU...for the women's coaching gig. I'm not kidding.
  22. He must have went to the Bill Self school of negotiation. It was like every year when he was at Illinois. at least there was a chance Self was actually going somewhere.
  23. If I'm Pinkel, I'm on the phone with Alden tomorrow morning wondering where my raise is.
  24. Mike Anderson somehow parlayed this year into another raise. That guy knows how to work the system.
  25. I think KU played better (especially in the second half) than a lot of people here are giving them credit for. Illinois played very well defensively for the most part. Say what you want to say about Weber, you gotta give him credit for sticking to his guns with Richmond. I don't know what he did to get this suspension, but I think he could've impacted the game.
