  1. He's definitely going to KU now. I don't think he'll be eligible to play anywhere. I doubt there's even enough KU pixie dust to make that happen.
  2. That game isnt over. Even if they lose, they'll still win the conference. I don't see another loss for them. Maybe @ Baylor. And we still have to win @ Mizzou. As lost as we looked in the hostile environment @ KSU, it's hard to believe we'll win at Paige Arena. I see you both at 14-2. You'll beat Mizzou, you are too athletic for that style to bother you too much. Mizzou Arena. No, I'm pretty sure they named the stadium after Paige Laurie, extremely wealthy Wal-Mart heiress and Mizzou graduate.
  3. butters, TT, and other mizzou fans--word is KU/MU recruit Ben McLemore got kicked off the team at Oak Hill.

  5. I think that Toomer's Corner thing is really sad, but holy [expletive], that's funny.
  6. I don't like watching my team lose, but it happens. But I do hate when my team shows no heart AND somehow also acts like arrogant pricks.
  7. unreal night by Jacob Pullen. Being #1 was about the worst thing that could happen to this team.
  8. Brownlie and his outlaw curve. damn. Bobby Brownlie. There's a guy I doubt I ever would have thought of again if I hadn't clicked on this thread.
  9. lmao ETA: LMAO at the beating volcub is taking here, too
  10. I think, no matter who coaches UI next year, they should fire their S&C coach. They just do not look as physically strong as a lot of top teams to me. There are a couple of guys (Leonard and McCamey) who look like they spend time in a weight room, but for the most part, I think UI's S&C needs work.
  11. wow that drive by johnson was nasty.
  12. Good lord, Texas looks unstoppable right now.
  13. Syracuse-Georgetown is the only other one that's a real rivalry and those were shown back-to-back. Rivalry day? Purdue - IU was that day too. kansas-missouri played during rivalry week, too.
  14. We'll have bad years just like everyone else. We had them in the late 90s when ISU was rolling us. We were a six seed in '99 and an 8 seed in 2000. This year's class looks like ass so far, but there's a good chance we grab 5* SF Deandre Daniels. We're also still in the mix for 5* Ben McLemore and 4* C/PF Angelo Chol. If we can grab 2/3 of those guys, we'll be ok.
  15. They only play like this at home..... On the road, they are a different team. Just like everyone else in college basketball. i think it's kind of funny that our lone loss and three of our closest wins (by one vs UCLA, by two vs USC, by three vs Nebraska) were home games, but tadow has us pegged as a mediocre road team who's just riding that home crowd to big wins.
  16. They only play like this at home..... On the road, they are a different team. we're undefeated on the road. Our average margin of victory in conference road games is 14 pts. Our average margin of victory against major conference opponents on the road is 13 points. We're worse on the road. Everyone is. But I think you're overstating how much of our success is driven by home games.
  17. i think you've inferred that we've slighted your program, which we haven't. this season sucks enough for the illini, and believe me, i know that they have failed miserably and i'll get to watch my team in the NIT or worse again this post-season. no need to kick us while we're down. perhaps a better way to have stated it would have been this: Since 2002, we've had three embarrassing tourney losses. (UNI, Bucknell, Bradley). We've also had three Final Fours, two championship games, and one title. Both of those things are the product of high seeding, so those miserable losses are worth it. I suppose that's just a long-winded way of restating what you already said, so maybe I'll shut up.
  18. I think Mizzou has a shot tonight because we're sloppy with the ball. Fortunately, Mizzou has struggled on the road, which might equalize things. Not sure what you mean by "who's cingular." did you mean to type "coming"? Methinks you were multitasking when you wrote that. As for who's coming back...no idea. I think Selby will be gone assuming he's projected in the 1st round. Marcus and Markieff are tougher to figure. I think if both are slated as first rounders, they're both gone. If just Marcus is, there's a chance he stays to play one more year with his brother. The other guy who might leave if the draft shakes out is Thomas Robinson. A team would have to be enamored with his potential since he only plays 15 mins a game, but he's got the tools. And with essentially his entire family passing away this year, he might decide to chase the money in an effort to provide for his little sister. In the end, I think Selby and the twins go and TRob stays, but maybe I have an inflated sense of Markieff's draftability.
  19. why do you say that? Maybe he was referring to last year, where they lost in the 2nd round as a 1 seed. Go MVC schools. I find it hard to believe an Illinois fan would be making fun of KU's tourney success. i assumed that he meant ku is good enough to win the tourney from any top 3 seed in any given year, but they are not above pooping on the mountaintop and getting beaten by UNI, bucknell, or bradley. i dont like the upsets, but i'd rather be in the position to be upset than be on the outside looking in.

  22. Right now I am thinking both Texas and Kansas will be getting #1 seeds based on the remaining schedules. if we play again in the Big 12 championship and we lose, i doubt we'll get a 1. You don't think a 2- or 3-loss Kansas team gets a No. 1 seed? Right now the only other major conference teams with three or fewer losses are OSU (23-0), Duke (21-2), Pittsburgh (21-2) and Texas (20-3). It seems like it would be hard to pass Kansas up, especially if they finish with two losses and both are to Texas, who I'd assume would remain a top-5 team. OSU probably has one locked up. A second loss to Texas would give Texas one over KU (if they already don't have it over KU.) That would leave KU to fight with Pitt, Duke, and UConn. I suppose a 2-loss KU's chances would depend in large part on what happens with Pitt and UConn. I don't think Duke will lose again. Of course, it's also early too predict no more conference losses. We still have to play Texas A&M in Lawrence and Mizzou twice, including at the Paige Arena in Columbia.

  24. KU has actually looked pretty good its last few games. Nebraska is a very good defensive team, and we obliterated them today on the road.
  25. not sure i agree too much with the premise that the NCAA should factor in how a team benefits from infractions when they administer punishment.
