  1. Kiper is supposed to talk about the signing on ESPN Radio this hour.
  2. I wish they'd lose the names and the red trim. It'll never happen.
  3. In addition to the host cities already planned, I figure Cincinnati and new parks for the A's and Nationals would see it before Wrigley. LA is due.
  4. I still have a copy of the Sun-Times from the day of NLDS Game Three. There's a big double truck spread detailing Prior's perfect mechanics. Journalists are so smart.
  5. Ah yes, the curse of Central Illinois. DIRECTV
  6. Welcome to the family!
  7. I hope Sammy makes the Cubs regret not giving him a shot.
  8. FIXED!
  9. If you're in a compromised setting, you need a bigger dish. Check out the gainmasters.
  10. Not true at all. I have great signal strength but if there is a storm you can be sure your going to lose your service for the duration. I had high 90's on clear days back when I had my problems. It's not just picking up a great signal on clear days that means properly adjusted. Since having it installed properly, I have great signal strength on the clear days, but also maintain it during storms. I bet it's just not set-up well. Was it securely bolted into a stable surface without obstructions by a professional? Yes Apparently not well enough.
  11. Rain fade is a non-issue 99% of the time with a properly adjusted dish. If you're losing service "every time it rains" then your dish is seriously misaimed.

  13. I just happen to appreciate a company that actually has to work to satisfy its customers. The cable companies have devolved into a world of warped business practices thanks to years of government-sponsored monopoly. "Effectively taken away?" What's stopping you from signing up for satellite?
  14. I think it was on avsforum or somesuch. The notion was that DirecTV would position EI on or near par with Sunday Ticket to make it worthy of folks up and switching providers just to get it. As it stands now, with Saturdays wasted and scant HD feeds, it pales in comparison.
  15. Are you kidding?
  16. I'd move.
  17. They just FedExed mine for self-installation. Did you need extra feeds run?
  18. DirecTV is going to take EI to the next level once negotiations are complete. You'll see Saturday games of the week with no territorial restrictions, and HD games all over the place. It's going to be awesome. I can't imagine going back to pre-DirecTV existance. Cable blows, and as somone with subs to both satellite providers, I can safely say that DishNet is a bush league operation.
  19. Dallas.
  20. Jul 23, 1991, Reds at Cubs retrosheet.org box Awesome night.
  21. Couldn't have said it better myself.
  22. And 5 people pissing on the corpse of an unfunny joke forum. Oh.
