  1. There's a reason the brand is fading into oblivion ...
  2. Every time I see Cubway's name, I feel compelled to try to order a 6 inch meatball with cheese, onions and green peppers on wheat. Yeah, it's always good to stay healthy by ordering that wheat bread. Do you get a diet coke with your Big Macs? I have never eaten a Big Mac. True story. Neither have I. I admit that I once ordered a Big Mac when they had the Indiana Jones promotion. I threw the sandwich away, though. I just wanted the movie and the fries. Never had a Big Mac either, but I'll eat the heck out of a QP with cheese. Same here, but double the QP. Never met a McD burger I didn't like. I even liked the vegetarian burger they used to sell. Never had a Filet-O-Fish, though.
  3. My thoughts exactly. Much ado about jack squat. It's nice for those who will watch, though. If it grows the game, then I suppose it's all right.
  4. That ninth inning strategy was ridiculous.
  5. I still can't get over the fact that Dusty's ridiculous machinations resulted in the benching of Dubois, Barrett and Hairston, three of our better hitters of late, in the middle of a slugfest. It just makes no sense.
  6. I'm starting to believe it's the latter. Evil Dusty, dude.
  7. http://us.news2.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/ap/20050419/capt.csa11004190251.cubs_reds_csa110.jpg Gotta tip your hat to that. That was some kind of ballplaying. Thanks for nothing, dude. :stone:
  8. Will Carroll just said Dusty "must be fired" on ESPN 950 out of Indianapolis. He was ranting about Neifi and Dusty's love of "crappy" players. Did anyone else hear this? I'd like to think I wasn't hearing my own thoughts instead of the broadcast.
  9. Post of the day.
  10. So I suppose a severe sprain is actually a slight tear?
  11. Seriously, what the hell is wrong with him?! It's so stupid.
  12. Totally ridiculous. Everyone except Dusty could see that Dempster was cooked, yet let him hit in a what could have been a big situation. With the off day tomorrow, why not bust Dempster and go to the pen?
  13. I've received all of mine. They came in last week.
  14. I picked up a bunch yesterday. Just bring your order numbers, a photo ID and the credit card of purchase and you're all set.
  15. That's what multiple credit cards/email/mailing addresses are for. I maintain several just for my ticketing needs. You guys must be better than I...I have enough trouble just maintaining the 1 charge card for me and my wife. Kasey What? I think you took that the wrong way ... this ain't about being able to pay off the cards, it's all about getting them.

  17. Here's a hearty thanks to all who helped bring the Convention to NSBB. I've gleaned much more from these posts than the stuff written by the guys who were paid to be there.
  18. I am pretty sure that none of those pictures were presented today. Two of those pictures were shown today but they were also presented at a previous time. One thing that confirms this for me is the fact that they use chicagosports.com as a source. That website doesn't have any recent articles about Wrigley and there are no pictures in their convention photo thing. It's a pretty crappy site, but it does have a nice collection of photos (obviously culled from the Trib) from the past few years of Wrigley renovation talk. The previously released pics I referenced were these: http://www.wrigleyexpansion.com/images/1.jpg http://www.wrigleyexpansion.com/images/2.jpg http://www.wrigleyexpansion.com/images/3.jpg
  19. This site features some of the pics from today's presentation (the renderings of the new building were released earlier), as well as earlier versions of the renovation plans.
  20. Nice work burnt. Looks like they've eliminated the exposed poles on the street ... nice. The new building on the third base side was originally designed (back in 2001) to mimick the neighborhood buildings ... not sure why the change was made, but I felt it had too much detail and detracted from the look of the park. The new design has alot of glass, but it also mimicks Wrigley's basic steel structure. All in all, I'm pleased. The building will allow for all the stuff that keeps the dorks happy while keeping it out of view of the field.
  21. It's so cool to see how far this organization has come, not just in recent times but over the years since the Trib took over. In the early '60s, it was routine to see the whole upper deck closed down Marlins-style ... fans in those days would have laughed in your face if you talked of a Cubs Convention drawing thousands in the dearth of winter, or of a future need for park expansion.
  22. Did anyone ask why similar improvements aren't slated for the third base side? I imagine they'red be no place to put the tarp ...
