    Back in the dark ages, they used to have the derby, skills competition and old-timer's game on the same afternoon. I have a tape somewhere of the 1990 old-timer's game at Wrigley - they actually played real baseball, no softball foolishness. Seems like Richie Allen homered. Gaylord Perry pitched, and wore a jersey with a dozen team logos on the front. The derby wasn't even televised, a shame because Sandberg won it.

    Any chance he could come back and play for us, especially in LF? :lol: Though the knees would never allow it, he looks to be in decent playing shape. Some of the guys (Bo Jackson) look ridiculously out of shape.

    Yes, his election convinces me that the shortstop position is on the verge of cancellation. Seriously, if he's the All-Star, how freaking horrible are the NL's SS bottom feeders?

    I was at work and missed this whole thing. Dang. I watched despite my problems with the format. Lots of blasts, but I hope they ditch the nation against nation deal next year. Too many sluggers were disqualified.

    Why, oh why couldn't Francona have taken one of "his guys?" I hate it when Sox players get recognition, rewards, bonuses, birthday parties, etc.

    Agreed. I'll laugh myself to tears if nobody hits one. For the first time in years, I won't be watching. Baseball is religion at my house - it's a big deal when I turn my back on MLB, but this ridiculous format has forced my hand.

    I don't plan on doing anything to him - ever - but that doesn't change the fact that what he did was stupid. Bartman needs peace, sure, but some of us wouldn't have reacted like he did. It bothers me when people pretend otherwise.

    He doesn't know how to. "Cubs fans watching trying to get on the bandwagon. The Bandwagon is full! Get off!" oh shut up.. Yea its full.. full of crap.. Have the White Sox had a sellout at the Cell this year? The Cubs games, Opening Day and a couple of half-price Mondays. That's it.

    Olympic baseball was always going to suck because the leagues rightly refused to shut down their seasons for weeks at a time. Without the stars of the game, what's the point? I never gave a damn anyway, the whole thing's a sham.
