  1. At least Maddux turned the lineup over so we won't lead off with Neifi ...
  2. What the hell happened? That didn't look all that threatening.
  3. He had sunglasses on at the plate the other day, presumably in an effort to hide the cheating.
  4. I'm sure you liked the altered pictures of the Cubs as well! They talked about the jumbotron during the broadcast, they said it was the largest in any stadium in the world. It's special because it's HD.
  5. Oh you mean the Oswalt who was the big tough guy when three guys were standing in between him and Barrett? Nah I don't think I will be voting for him. If I ever see him outside or the park though I promise I will punch him in the mouth. That's justice.
  6. I have a pair of tickets for the July 23rd game in St. Louis. I'm not saying that I'm ready to sell the tickets, but St. Louis is a long drive to make if the team isn't playing well. I've driven to plenty of games featuring rebuilding Cubs teams, and had plenty of fun - but it's no fun at all to watch idiotic managing with one of our best starting staffs ever being wasted. A Shane Andrews loss isn't nearly as aggravating as one endured with real talent on the field.
  7. If by good offense in 2003 you mean by watching the likes of Hee Seop Choi, Bobby Hill, Alex Gonzalez, Lenny Harris, and Damian Miller all in the starting lineup at the same time, well then yes, by all means we had a good offense. And Randall Simon, Tom Goodwin and Paul Bako on the bench. My Lord, how did we get anywhere?
  8. I almost forgot: only 498 days until Dusty's contract expires.
  9. I've traveled extensively to see this club play at home and on the road over the last five years. It got pretty damn hard to shell out the cash toward the end of Baylor's reign, and now I've reached the same point with Dusty - what's the point of driving six hours one way to watch his garbage? Wrigley's worth the trip regardless, but there's not much motivating me to visit the road parks right now.
  10. That was the one game in that series I wasn't at. I was at the Friday and Saturday games. I'll never forget that series, with Hollandsworth's game-tying HR followed by an extra inning win on Friday, and Pratt and Farnsworth gift-wrapping the Saturday game for the Braves (with Grandpa Franco's HR). Ugggggggggggggh. That Saturday game was Sergio Mitre's debut, where the kid pitched his heart out and showcased some incredible guts, fortitude, and sheer will to win. I remember seeing him make some of the most impressive defensive plays for a pitcher this side of Greg Maddux. I'm still bitter about that one. Yech. I remember stomping out of Turner Field, raving like a madman. "IT'S TOO F****ING LATE KYLE! IT'S TOO F****ING LATE KYLE!" Two out of three wasn't bad, though.
  11. I'd rather have him than little Mookie.
  12. I like it when "crush" and "Buehrle" appear in the same sentence. What a loser.
  13. 499 days until Baker's contract expires.
  14. I'd slit my wrist, but then I'd mess up my bracelet.
  15. Well, we are in extras, time to tighten up and not waste guys.
  16. if he gets picked off or thrown out trying to steal you know they will. boo
  17. cubs vs west tenn who wins? The Cards.
