  1. -I don't give it much credence. I think Hendry felt by acquiring Miller that he was getting extra. Myguess is that the Cubs will do what they have said; go with a 4-man rotation and work in a minor league arm when the 5th spot is needed (unless Prior is able to pitch by April 15th). I concur. It is a little early to hit the panic button. Besides, Wood and Miller should be ready by May, Prior too. If Wood and Miller can stay healthy the Cubs will have a formitable rotation. Plus they also have Guzman, Marshall, Hill, and perhaps Ryu who can step in. Unless Hendry knows something we don't (actually he probably know a lot more than us) I don't see the Cubs getting some filler pitcher before they know how things are going to shake out.
  2. What's he hitting this spring? M Grissom .259 12 27
  3. And Marquis swings at the first pitch. WTG! Lucky for him the wind was swirling.
  4. What is up with the guy wearing the "he gone" shirt and cubs visor? Somebody should slap him uside his goggin.
  5. Ok, I just got finished buliding a new porch and watched exactly one pitch and I am already sick of hearing Harelson. I will watch the rest of the game on mute.
  6. Team record by leadoff hitter Patterson 15 14 0.517 Hairston 39 37 0.513 Macias 4 4 0.500 Perez 13 13 0.500 Theriot 1 1 0.500 Lawton 7 11 0.389 Gerut 0 1 0.000 Totals 79 83 0.488 As always, nice work Fred!
  7. I don't really have a strong feeling for him, one way or the other. I think it's interesting that not ONE critic of Pierre commented on these numbers. The main reason is because those stats have no bearing whatsoever on the converstation. They were illustritive that Pierre saw pitches and made contact, nothing else.
  8. Koronka is tossing beach balls.
  9. Both Augie and Pie in. Augie at SS Pie at CF
  10. In the off-season Sammy lives in Aventura FL. I lived about 5 blocks from him and saw him frequently. He trained with other S. Florida MLB residents at St. Thomas university in Miami. He has a house in the DR but visits infrequently. I'm not saying he did or didn't take steriods. Just trying to set the record straight.
  11. Poetic justice 1-0 our neighbors from the South.
  12. I don't quite understand that? Howe would that work? Would Japan then go?
  13. Mexico hit a homerun that hit the right field foul/fair pole about 10 foot up and Bob Davidson was about 30 feet away and called it a double.
  14. I hate to say this but I hope the USA gets beat and bad.
  15. How much is USA baseball paying Bob Davidson? That call is inexcusable even for a little league umpire.
  16. Please let's not have this discussion again. Wins are a team stat not an individual stat. Can we agree on that?
  17. There is a thread in transactions that is discussing this.
  18. Ahh, makes me think of Corey... Makes me think of Angle Pagen as the Cubs starting CFer.
  19. That is just ridiculus beyond the point of obsurdity. The prospect of trading Walker for donuts, over paying for medicore bullpen pitchers and lead off men) is not pessimism. Get over yourself and soon.
  20. I have no idea. Wouldn't they have done the MRI yeserday? ugh!
  21. What are Pierre's numbers? I don't know about Pierre, but right about now I am wishing Mitre was still a Cub. I never thought he got a fair chance in Chicago. I don't think he is a world beater, but the Cubs could use another #3 or #4 with the health (or lack there of) the pitching staff.
  22. The moderators here keep trolling to a minimum and most of the people adhear to the conventions of the forum (attack the post not the poster). There are many knowldeable people that post here. It is a great place. One thing, if you have a strong opinon be ready to back it up becuase someone wil probably disagree. I agree with you that they will probably say minor inflamation of... and they will put him on some sort of schedule with no time table. This whole saga just reeks.
  23. Welcome to the forum! Bruce Miles posts here occasionally and thankfully. I am hoping once he gets word he will pass it along to us.
  24. Hello Neifi. It is only a matter of time before Hairston is injured. Cuse's prediction of Neifi getting in 140 games is not that far off it Walker is gone. Damn Walker's overactive tounge.
