  1. How much easier? What I mean is are the difference between parks meaningful. Say like PetCo vs. GAB. Are they all within a standard deviation?
  2. Soriano K-rushed that ball. Wells is a 5 inning pitcher.
  3. Exactly. It is not bad enough that I can not stand the a-clowns in the bleachers to begin with (everything wrong with the Cubs), but to happen two times in one game (in consecutive innings) is just embarrassing. Holy Hyperboly! Bleacher fans are far from everything that's wrong with the Cubs. Most people are smart enough to not be a moran in that situation.
  4. I'm biased, but I think they are worse at Busch. do they scream at every 300 foot fly bally too? It's really hard to tell how far the ball is flying when you are at the park. Especially the people in the bleachers with the wind blowing in. The ball looks like it is going to fly much farther than it does when it gets hung up in the wind.
  5. Is he over 21? Nothing wrong with having a beer or two at the ballgame.
  6. As if Len and Bob are reading the game thread
  7. Adrian Gonzelez is the best player nobody knows about. He's a left handed Derrek Lee.
  8. Wells is "on". Good thing he is a 6 inning pitcher.
  9. Where's IMB with his "go crazy" Jack Buck in Hell photoshop?
  10. hahahahaha Not a bad idea. The heart attach offense.
  11. Actually with a pitcher like Wells the best tactic is to swing early in the count. Same with Maddux. Even after a walk.
  12. Is it just me, or do the Cubs seem to have a lot of really slow SPs that are susceptible to steals? There have been many instances of runners getting such good jumps on our pitchers that there was no chance of throwing them out. 1- I think that could have been catcher's indifference (judment call) 2- he was already in scoring position, I don't think Lilly was worried about him 3- I don't really mind with Lilly having trouble locating the strike zone. 4- Barrett is a terrible defensive catcher no amount of sarcasim will change that
  13. they barely touched each other, but Soriano needed to call Pie off Pie's call there. He's in charge (supposedly)
  14. The Padres lineup shows just how good their pitching has been and how much of a homefield atvantage PetCo is. Their line-up is purtrid.
  15. It's Paul Sullivan. The next time he does in-depth reporting on the Cubs will be the first time he does in-depth reporting on the Cubs. Exactly, the is pure Paul "Drama Queen" Sullivan. Stir it up, Paul. Stir it up.
  16. I'd like the Cubs to get Dunn but they don't have a positon for him becuase they refuse to move Soriano to RF. It is also my opinion that the Cubs do not want Dunn b/c he strikes out too much and doesn't play good defense. If they were to get him they would probably mis-manage him by hitting him 6 or 7. In short, I like him, the Cubs don't and wouldn't use him properly anyway. It's not that he doesn't play good defense it is that he plays terrible defense. We can't just pretend that's not the case. So [expletive] what? He's a LF er. Defense is highly overrated.
  17. I think the real question is whether he's ready defensively I suspect his defensive problems are overblown. Errors, and fielding percentage as a result, are virtually worthless statistics, and I'm not aware of any advanced fielding stats compiled for minor leagues. However, even if we assume that he does have defensive problems, wouldn't it be a good thing for him to have the opportunity to work with guys like Trammell? I agree. He had one really terrible game last year and I think again this year. Let the kid play 2nd. It's the Cubs only real option.
