    Why do I feel like this is the same melody with different lyrics with the Ricketts? 2022 #1 hit: The time is not right to spend a lot of money. 2023 #1 hit: These guys want too many years Not a good way to start the offseason.

    Far be it from me to criticize the Ricketts for attempting to buy another business. However, I do question their commitment to the Cubs to winning baseball games. The Cubs are like the toy they are tired of playing with now and just want to see how much money they can extract from it for their next thing.

    I wouldn't mind losing a bunch of shootouts where the "future" guys all show out; then having the pick one before the packers and trading down to deny them the QB of their choice. Then they reach, overdraft a guy and get stuck in QB hell for ages. Don't they think they have their QB of the future right now, in Love?

    It would be so incredible if Michigan slows the game down enough to beat them in Columbus. There will be many tears and couch fires a plenty off of High street. My schadenfreude would be off the charts too.

    Ohio State is winning the national championship game if it is played today. It wouldn't be a close game either. OSU Georgia Michigan Everyone else. Not a single person who isn’t an Ohio State fan would agree with you. You clearly haven’t watched Georgia play if you truly believe that nonsense you posted. The SEC is down. Alabama has the best talent, but Saban is on cruise control at this point and his assistant coaches aren't of the same quality he use to attract. I don't think Tennessee has nearly enough talent to compete with either OSU or Michigan and the outcome would be the same as Georgia. I"m not an OSU fan in the least. They have the most talent at the most important positions of any team outside of Alabama. I wish they could play next week, but we shall see what happens. I don't think OSU or Georgia is going to lose before the national championship game.

    That is very Dusty Yes, his logic is very bad. He said he didn't want him bitching about playing time. 1) He's a better catcher than anyone you have 2) He's a better DH than anyone you have. Figure out a way to get him ABs. Also, they were asking for a back of the rotation pitcher who has 3 years of team control. I would have been pretty pissed at that outcome. Dusty is the poster boy for being in the right place at the right time. He's managed more star-quality players than any manager in the 21st centry.

    It looks like the Bears practice in Bryant Park. Like a pick up game.

    Auburn fired Harsin, to the shock of no one. He had a "my way or the highway" demeanor, which Auburn said it wanted after their last coach. Auburn will now be paying 3 coaches who no longer coach for them and one who will be coaching. My wife works at one of the university satellite campuses and the craziness of the athletic program is mirrored in the administration. The place is a mess. It's unfortunate because there are a lot of good scholars working there.

    I know there is nothing to be done about it, but the luxury tax threshold seems to me to be low relative to the salary in MLB.
