  1. He's someone the Cubs should go after. It's less obvious if they are interested given the price tag.
  2. I see this a lot. Chapman isn't in the same tier as Belligner, nor is he a good fit for the Cubs' offensive needs. But we know they like defense (market inefficiency?). I'd be pretty sore if they had an either/or situation and chose Chapman.
  3. Agree. I like the idea of PCA getting a soft landing into MLB. If he's that good, he's worth a lot in a trade or you move Happ or Suzuki to DH
  4. If the Bears are going to trade down, I like NIx. If they are going to wait until a later round my opinion is not to draft any QB.
  5. If they evaluate his performance objectively, they should be ready to move on. He's a great athlete, but not a great or even a good QB. Once he slows down a step, he's going to be even worse. There is a lot of temptation though.
  6. If I'm the union, I'm calling every union rep to try to get the players on board to pay a % for a huge strike fund or at least tell them to set money aside because they are going to war in a few years.
  7. IMB is correct. Collusion is hard to prove, but that's what we are seeing. It's probably tacitly being done, but they are all doing it. They can change the rules of the actual games all they want. But the way they are doing business is hurting the sport from a fan perspective. The currency in baseball should be wins, but it's not.
  8. Yes, it's a gamble for sure. Poles has to be sure if he's keeping Fields. I'd take the best QB, but I understand the logic of trading down. My friend was going on about the locker room being "Fields locker room" and a bunch of other stuff that I just rolled my eyes at while I was talking to him on the phone.
  9. He still has the draft pick attached to him. I'd say Jed is very extremely unlikely to target Hader.
  10. One of my meathead friends actually made a good point the other day. If they trade down and Fields doesn't work out, they still have all the future picks they get as well as the players they drafted with the new picks. It's made me seriously think about it. Even if Fields sucks next year, they will, all things being equal, have a stronger supporting team for whoever becomes the QB.
  11. That's an understatement.
  12. Steele for sure. He's more likely to have a meh or worse year
  13. Michigan’s QB didn’t do much for his draft stock
  14. I love CFB overtime
  15. There are also no trophies for who spends the least amount of money to win the most games.
  16. I’d guess if they decide to trade it will be a swap of 1 for 2 or 3 plus whatever sweeteners they can get. id hope they would target MHJ, but its the Bears so poles may drop down so he can get another weak side linebacker or CB.
  17. I’m not necessarily broken up about Ohtani and Soto. But they need a very good starting pitcher and power, preferably LH. They need at least one late inning reliever and probably some bench slugging as well. Bellinger only makes sense if they think he can play CF for the contract or at least until Happ or Suzuki are gone. id really like if they get imanaga, but that’s not likely. We have to come to terms with how the Ricketts want to run the Cubs. Not an easy task.
  18. He is who he is. And that’s all he’s ever going to be. If you’re ok with that you’ll be ok. If you expect he’s going to get better you are setting yourself up for disappointment.
  19. I don’t know anything. That’s not the point. I’m reasonably sure that Fields has the ability to be a bad-mediocre QB. I’m also reasonably sure they have have bad coaching.
  20. It would so Bears to keep these awful coaches and Fields and then trade the pick only to watch both of them become HOF QBs.
  21. Maybe they should not do that though. Bieber is not a long term option. I’ve been as critical as anyone, but some of this is people wanting something to happen for its own sake. I don’t want them giving up much for him.
  22. lol, Giants kicker choked so bad.
  23. Not able to watch the game. It would be their worst loss by far.
  24. If you can’t see how this is trending, I don’t know what to tell you.
  25. Do you think they are? I suppose if they believe Fields is the problem the way to go is to allow the coaches to play with another QB.
