Good patience for Morel this spring. He's looking really good.

No one is going to want him unless the Cubs dump a pile of cash to go along with him. I agree, ST doesn't mean anything. He's definitely not a starter and they are short on LH guys, so he's on the team.

Cody is back, do we have a timeline for when he's going to get into games? I'm guessing a week or two? It will be interesting to see if the protracted negotiations have any effect on his early production. There are lots of variables at work here though.

Jed has built-in redundancies all over the field, but this is one relatively thin area. They can mix in Wisdom, Bellinger, and perhaps Mervis although this spring he has not shown much so far. If Bush fails mightily this may be a warming spot for Pete Alonso at the trade deadline if the Mets fall out of contention and they can't work out an extension for him.

There was an interesting article on Williams in the Athletic today. On one hand, I like that they are concerned with making sure that Williams is fairly compensated. On the other hand, they (the Williams team, father and advisors) sound like a nightmare to deal with. Is that just for the WS or is that for all the games? I just assumed the city paid for the police to be there. Edit: The Ricketts do have some balls on them though. Welfare for me, but not for the poors.

Gomes had a really good year at the plate last year. More rest and maybe he can approach those numbers again.

If they do it and it works Poles is a genius. If not, he’s out of job in a few years. To date, he’s not demonstrated any level of genius with his picks.
