  1. Not that ST records matter, b/c they don't. But still, the Dodgers are 13-4.
  2. Keith Law has two Cubs in his top 20 prospects likely to make an impact in the MLB this year The first is easy, Busch, who barely qualifies. The 2nd is not Horton, but Shaw. Law thinks the Morel "experiment" will not work and Shaw will be taking ABs in MLB this year. Law is not going out on a limb with those predictions, but I think Horton (if all goes as expected) will have a much bigger impact. https://theathletic.com/5335070/2024/03/13/mlb-rookie-impact-projections-2024-season/
  3. Not necessarily about Dansby since they have a lot of money tied up into him, but they do have Vazquez in Iowa who looks like a real SS and is a top 20 prospect on the farm. If Dansby gets injured, he's a nice potential fallback who could plug right in at least on defense.
  4. I just saw this on one of my feeds- In 1972 Steve Carleton went 27-10 with 30 complete games on a 50 win team!
  5. Poles is just an odd duck.
  6. Our own Owen Caissie made the Athletic’s 30 players who’ve impressed this ST. Good for him. There is lightning in that bat.
  7. I like how you are both trashing Poles for opposite reasons.
  8. I think Wisdom has more versatility and at this point is more of a 1st baseman who can also fill in at 3rd. As for making the roster, I like him more than Cooper and less than Mastouboni. If it were me, I'd take Cooper and DFA/trade Madrigal even if he's the best glove at 3rd. I do think they are trying to figure out what to do with Bote. They had him in the OF the other day. Either they are showcasing him or trying to figure out how he fits, if he fits b/c he's not on the 40 man.
  9. It would probably cost as literal horsefeathers tonne of money, but a great creative architect might be able to make a multi purpose facility look aesthetically pleasing and functional. It makes more sense for the city to do something like that, than lay down for two new places.
  10. Damn, the game tonight doesn't start unitl 8 pm. I might catch an inning.
  11. This is looking increasingly like a very tough situation to be in for Fields.
  12. Great game today.
  13. Bote continues to have another good spring. Maybe they can get a decent prospect for him.
  14. Edwards is having a good spring. At first I thought they were giving him a landing spot to showcase, but I think he has a shot to make the pen.
  15. PCA is fine. Give a guy a learning curve.
  16. They are playing the guys they want to see more of so they can make better judgement at the tail end of the bench. Amaya is on the team.
  17. I’m no expert but it seems to me he’s destined for the bullpen. He seems to be more control of his mechanics when he’s in the stretch.
  18. If Poles intends to trade Fields before free agency he has today through Sunday.
  19. I'm looking forward to seeing Howard. I'm really hoping there is something to get excited about this year with him.
  20. I think Wicks is the 5 starter. Wesneski did have a decent start last night. I don't like him as a starter, but I do like him in the pen.
  21. Delacruz is 0-5 with 5 Ks against the Cubs this ST.
  22. Busch can handle heat.
  23. lol. That too.
  24. The only thing that is less likely to be stable is the batting average. But isn't that the case most guys? He changed his approach. That's the story.
