  1. Miller has that slow wind-up and then blows gas. It's really hard to time that.
  2. Suzuki gets jobbed by the umpire at least one pitch every AB.
  3. Kyle has not pitched poorly, but 30 pitches already. And Gomes whiffs on a foul ball.
  4. Dodgers loaded. Like a semi-truck full of steel with the gas peddle pegged.
  5. The defense is alluding the Cubs, but the Dodgers didn't score. Hendricks with the bases loaded and one out in the 1st.
  6. Kyle is pretty amazing, but no match for Ohtani.
  7. Let's get this party started. Too bad I'm still at work, I'd love to have a few beers.
  8. These 15-20 games are tough, but good teams make it through. I will be happy if they are at or around .500 after this is all over.
  9. Feels. Even the pro scouts can't predict this. He has the size, arm, and quickness to be a prototypical professional QB. His major issue is that he played for Harbaugh and they were so good relative to their conference and nonconference schedule for much of his career he didn't get to put up gaudy numbers. The other issue is health. Tebow was a hype-created monster who threw a football like a baseball player, didn't have a strong arm, and wasn't a good decision-maker. If you want to compare McCarthy to someone there are about half a dozen 2nd string QBs in the league that he resembles.
  10. The problem with the Cubs farm system, if you want to call it a problem, is that they have a lot of good prospects, but aside from PCA, Horton, and maybe Shaw no great prospects. It's going to make it difficult for there to be a "big" trade unless they are going to unload a bunch of guys. Hoyer already gambled with Ferris and Hope for Busch. That's much more likely the type of trade that will happen. Although I like Busch, he's 26 already and has much to prove at the major league level. I'm not so sure I would have made that trade.
  11. We need a Cubs in season mega thread. Anyway, The Cardinals are the only team in the division under .500 (suck it, redneck cousin horsefeathers). The Marlins are the only team who have not won a game yet.
  12. There is a bunch of good stuff in the article from Counsell.
  13. This is why Counsell is such an upgrade from Ross (and most other managers): “The most important part about that is you have to be willing to change your mind,” Counsell said. “You can’t get too stuck on ‘it has to be this way.’ If you’re willing to change your mind you’re better to make a decision that makes sense for everybody involved.” https://theathletic.com/5390229/2024/04/04/craig-counsell-cubs-pitchers/
  14. When Reuschel was with the Pirates he shut out the Cubs throwing only sinkers. Aside from Bartolo Colon he was one of the least athletic pitchers.
  15. Lol, I went to bed when in was 5-0. Glad they won.
  16. Brown needs to get a little action on his FB. Velocity is great but it’s straight as arrow.
  17. So far I am liking the Craig Counsel era.
  18. I want to know which burner account you guys are responding to, because this is art.
  19. Good not for the prospects and Mervis.
  20. The Rockies are so bad. A reflection of the owner.
  21. I’m not going to name names because frankly I don’t know any, but they know who they are.
