  1. Make your pick...
  2. yeah the problem is that bradley also has character issues, and jim would rather build a nice team that sucks than a good team with a couple of a-holes
  3. i'm sure he'd like that too sorry, someone had to say it... CT made it too easy.
  4. how long is bradley out though? does he miss any time in 2008?
  5. yeah randy winn, let's address our problem of not getting on base enough and not hitting for enough power by getting a guy who doesn't have a high obp and doesn't hit for much power.
  6. don't forget kaz matsui... can never have enough 2B/utility types on the team.
  7. Okay so here's Roast's sig, which is mildly amusing... http://i14.tinypic.com/6ovo3l2.gif Now to me, it's pretty obvious that this is staged. If you're legitimately startled by something, isn't your first instinct to jump back, rather than wheel around and throw a punch? Much like the things on America's Funniest Home Videos, this loses a lot of its "funny factor" if it was all set up in advance. The other question I have is, why is the "interviewer" (a white kid) wearing an Ecko shirt?
  8. yeah after the pierre signing, literally anything is possible with coletti
  9. was todd boeckman's name put on this list as a joke? Sam Bradford, Graham Harrell, Colt Brennan and Todd Reesing are more deserving than him, and that's just a few QBs off the top of my head.
  10. i knew he wasn't great but boy, i didn't remember him being that bad
  11. I think Pie will be a tick more patient, hit for a bit more power, but be nowhere near the base stealer of Crawford. he might hit more home runs, but i don't know that his SLG% will necessarily be better. The Crawford projection makes no sense. He's inexplicably going to decline at age 26? Also, Bedard will blow those numbers out of the water if he's healthy.
  12. 822 post ASB OPS 183 post ASB IsoP just my opinion. He doesn't look like he's in great shape any more. If he's really off steroids (who knows with the HGH business) then I think he's going to fall off pretty quickly.
  13. aside from the fact that the dodgers wouldn't do that deal? i guess it can't hurt to offer trades that will get shot down. while we're at it let's offer eyre, fontenot, theriot and veal for miggy cabrera.
  14. good times all around. i was really looking forward to a golden era of FJM, and i really hope this doesn't prevent it. I always enjoy when FJM tears apart a stupid NY media piece that trashes A-Rod, but at this point I don't really care if they write crap about him. I guess at some point there was some sympathy because he was being hammered for the most idiotic reasons, but he had his chance to get away from that, and he's choosing to take the most money (again). At this point I say he kinda brings it on himself.
  15. i'm not sure the rangers should be laughing at anybody, considering how badly they suck
  16. those numbers seem pretty ambitious for murton. I like PECOTA (.295/.356/.454) more. As for Lee, he showed some more power in the second half of the year... this may mitigate the concerns that I have about his absurd 2007 BABIP.
  17. i'd like loney if he shows the pop that he had last year, but i think he turns out more like a lyle overbay
  18. Yeah. We're getting somewhere in between 2.5 and 3 million savings from the Jones trade at this point. oh okay, the tigers are paying the third portion ($1.33M) of the bonus payment too? I forgot about that when factoring in the savings; I just thought of the $5M salary next year.
  19. maybe that's why ucla football sucks, they save most of their money for the basketball recruits
  20. wait so we're going to throw in $2M with the jones trade and also pay infante $1.5M? That trade was pretty pointless then.
  21. personally i think that this season was the beginning of what will be a pretty ugly decline for tejada
  22. i still think the pierre signing was the worst contract in baseball history. some look very bad in hindsight, but just about everyone knew this was a terrible idea when it happened.
  23. yeah the orioles would pretty much laugh that offer out of the room
  24. well pierre had a batting average near .300 to go with 60 steals, so coletti probably is happy with the signing.
