  1. yes, it's been proven mathematically that teams should go for it much more often than they do on 4th down... especially down in the red zone
  2. terrible 3rd down call... everyone in the crowd knew that was going to be a qb draw
  3. just like florida is better than georgia
  4. does west virginia want to play for the title?
  5. haha the holy cross coach took a nice shot at fordham in his blog:
  6. apparently 40 yards is too far for oregon's kicker
  7. The cupboard is awfully bare when it comes to talent on the Michigan b-ball team. Harvard just beat Michigan. warms my heart to see tommy amaker's harvard team beat michigan
  8. yeah karl dorrell is on the hot seat because he's black
  9. for God's sakes ,make a new commercial Dr. Pepper
  10. i'm betting my first and last game of the year. cincy at pittsburgh, over/under of 43.5. the weather is going to be terrible during the day, so the field will be wet, and during the game there will be a moderate to heavy rain with temperatures in the 40s. by late in the game a cold front should be through, with winds picking up. Now watch as my forecast is completely right and the game ends up being 38-34 anyway.
  11. Very clever. i guess my point is that we might get a report with a few names on it, but i'm assuming that the vast, vast majority of steroid users will never be outed
  12. milledge may not be a great CF but i have to think he'd be better out there than austin kearns
  13. i also remember when ruben rivera and alex ochoa were the next vlad guerrero. A lot of prospects in New York get the "one of the better prospects in the game" label without being that great.
  14. ah okay... i guess they'll just non-tender estrada?
  15. I'm shocked people here kind of like Jack Wilson. He was solid last year, and solid in 04 (.308/.335/.459 with 11 HRs and 59 RBI), but other than that his career numbers are absolutely horrid. Other than 04 and 07 when he had an OPS+ of 104 and 105 respectively, he hasn't put up an OPS+ of above 77 in any of his five other seasons. He's absolutely terrible, and Ryan Theriot's 72 OPS+ last year is very comparable to the rest of Wilson's career. With that pretty awful contract, there is no need to even think about Jack Wilson, as I have no doubt Theriot could put up the same or better numbers for a fraction of the cost. It should also be noted that I despise Ryan Theriot, and don't even think he should be anything more than the 25th man next year. That's how much I dislike the idea of Wilson at SS. Wilson has been worth about one win less per year than Rafael Furcal over the past four years. Theriot was worth about four wins less than what Jack Wilson has averaged over the past four years. To say that Wilson is "absolutely terrible" is... well, absolutely untrue.
  16. here's the list of the players who used steroids: http://mlb.mlb.com/searchPlayerSearchServlet?conference=ML&action=searchbyposition&position=
  17. unfortunately, a lot of other teams ran by florida's secondary too
  18. Defense. He's one of the best defensive catchers and baseball and can get on base at a decent rate. From 2004-07, Schneider had a total WARP3 of 17.6, while Barrett's was 13.4. Even if you take Barrett's disastrous 2007 out of the equation, Schneider had a better WARP3 each year from 2004 through 2006. Now one could certainly question why the Mets have taken on Brian Schneider and Johnny Estrada. That makes as little sense as Hendry's 2B infatuation.
  19. Which school's football student section a few years back was having a big problem with students relieving themselves in their seats because it was too packed to get to a bathroom? sounds bill walker needs the Stadium Pal
  20. if Cap'n Kirk leaves, they had better bring Bob Stoops home bwahahahahaha
  21. Agreed... I don't buy the crap about how certain players aren't "good enough" to get in on the first ballot. If a guy is good enough to be in the HoF, then vote for him whenever he becomes eligible. If he's not good enough, then don't vote for him. But don't hold back on your vote because you think only guys like Ruth, Williams and Mays should get in on the first ballot. The HoF is permanent, once you're in you're in for good, and nobody is going to remember who got in on the first ballot and who got in on their second eligible year. Putting Tim Raines in on the first ballot doesn't mean that people are going to think he's as good as Babe Ruth.
  22. i'm convinced that he has photos of james dolan having sex with a dog or something... not only has he completely run that team into the ground, but he's also been an embarrassment off the court and cost them millions in that sexual harassment suit. i guess quentin richardson should've kept his mouth shut about the celtics, huh?
  23. the bigger problem that i have is that a ticky-tack call can allow a team to move the ball 50 yards down the field. make it a maximum of 15 yards, like in college.
