  1. i do have to say, it would be pretty funny if the cubs traded hammel at the deadline. bad, but funny.
  2. i don't think that he's better than anybody currently in our starting rotation.
  3. another good start for jeremy null: 6 ip, 5 h, 1 r, 0 bb, 4 k. he has walked 3 batters in 56 innings.
  4. video: http://www.milb.com/multimedia/vpp.jsp?content_id=146788983&sid=milb
  5. more ridiculous fifa stories! FIFA admits Ireland received $5M over infamous Thierry Henry handball A dark day for Fifa after claims of arms deals for World Cup votes from the latter link:
  6. quick, send rizzo up there and hope they don't notice it's not his spot in the order.
  7. Rizzo's back is starting to hurt from carrying this team.
  8. hey it's a parade of terrible hitters, let's fall behind all of them.
  9. well played guys. walk to a terrible hitter and then botched defense on a bunt.
  10. good, he didn't deserve a hit for that pathetic contact.
  11. i don't understand the defense of that stupid hill in astros' cf. yeah it's "entertaining" - it would also be entertaining to have a few rusted out cars parked in the outfield as well, and watching outfielders try to play defense around those. doesn't mean it's a good idea.
  12. lobaton runs like he just [expletive] his pants.
  13. meanwhile, has arrieta had a single ball called a strike tonight?
  14. mendy has walked in all 3 of his plate appearances. villanueva is on a hot streak: 2-2 with a double, home run and walk. jokisch also hit a home run.
  15. i can't tell if harper has become more patient or if every pitcher is just terrified of him.
  16. to be fair, kendall was a very good player for the pirates and was in his prime. the cubs acquired him when he was 33. mildly annoying that rendon misses two months then comes back just in time for a 4 game series against us.
  17. "strike two" against lake: called a strike 2% of the time. ump calls it a strike.
  18. villanueva has been making a lot of errors this year, which is weird because his defense is supposed to be a strong point. i agree that he's still got a future as a matt dominguez type (hopefully with a better bat than the wet noodle that dominguez swings) if his defense can be a plus.
  19. javier baez hit 3 home runs in his first 3 major league games.
  20. Without question they lead the league in hits allowed to the opposing pitcher, and have for several years. Wait, you actually looked this up? does that sound like an actual fact to you or just some aramis fan horse [expletive]? The latter, obviously, but I wanted to call him out on it. unfortunately it doesn't seem like there's an easy way to look it up - there's just looking up pitching versus the #9 hitter in the order, which obviously will sometimes be a pinch hitter. that being said, here's how the cub pitchers have ranked against the #9 hitter: 2010: 5th most hits allowed (97) out of 16 NL teams 2011: 8th most hits allowed (95) out of 16 NL teams 2012: 11th most hits allowed (83) out of 16 NL teams 2013: 5th most hits allowed (99) out of 15 NL teams 2014: 14th most hits allowed (73) out of 15 NL teams 2015: tied 5th most hits allowed (31) out of 15 NL teams so either the cubs are allowing an inordinately low number of hits to pinch hitters and #9 hitters in american league ballparks, and have been doing so for "several years", or aramis fan is posting out his ass. again.
