  1. haha i was watching the highlights on gameday (pretty poor video selection compared to usual, only 4 of them) and when the brewers cameron knocked in their second run (during the 9th inning), they said "give 'em something to think about!" right, i'm sure the cubs are going to be thinking about one of their worst relievers giving up a run to cut their lead to 9, not the fact that they pounded the brewers in the rear for four straight games at their house.
  2. i've seen what some of those white sox fans look like... hawk shouldn't be making fun of other teams' fans.
  3. Pat: Deep to left.... It's gone! Ron: YESSSSSSSSSS more than likely it was "ALL RIGGGHT! YES SIR!" followed by a "WOOOOO", "OH MY GOD" and a "HE HIT THAT BALL PATRICK" i just found it on gameday audio... it's at 1:40:55. also, chevrolet made a big, big, big, BIG donation to the wgn neediest kids' fund.
  4. this is my new favorite series ever, though the cubs can change that in 3 months.
  5. thanks, i was close to having that season erased from my memory too.
  6. did he throw a towel? hahahaha get it???
  7. i think that pretty much covers it. we'll use the same update for ryan harvey.
  8. score one for the homer picks!
  9. laird is a pretty good backup but shouldn't really be starting for a team that aspires to be good. the rangers would be wise to sell him now, preferably to a general manager who doesn't know what BABIP means. salty's k-rate this year is disturbingly bad. i still think he'll be a good catcher, but he really needs to start making more contact.
  10. They should be pretty decent seats, but I'm one of those people who believes there's very few bad seats at Miller Park. 231 is down the left field line, but a section or so away from the foul pole. You should be able to see the infield action develop nicely, and you'll probably see most of the outfield action except for the left field corner. I hope you have a good time, but please take it easy on any heartbroken Brewer fans you may come across. if it makes you feel better, you're still leading the wild card chase.
  11. whether it's cotts or marmol: just throw strikes.
  12. i'm pretty sure that lee would feel very disrespected if the manager pinch hit for him in the 9th inning of a game with a 5 run lead.
  13. is ed wade confusing the fecal league standings with the playoff/wild card standings???
  14. if kyle farnsworth is the answer, then you're asking the wrong question.
  15. But more than likely. hey if he is gonna get that GIDP record he has to start converting in spots like this.
  16. [opens can of worms] too bad we didn't bench him back when cedeno was hot in april
  17. Superb defender, excellent game caller and a little bit of a bat. He's a fine backup. his bat is pretty much a BABIP mirage, but there's no reason he shouldn't be playing at least once a week to keep soto fresh for october.
  18. so does torres. his "every game" clause dates back to when he was on the pirates though (94 games one year!)
  19. every park in florida should be a dome
  20. i think i've been saying this for weeks - cubs are one of the most likely teams to make the playoffs.
  21. if you're a minor leaguer like rebel ridling or guyer and you hit a home run at wrigley, that has got to be an AWESOME feeling.
  22. if dusty couldn't kill him, lou probably can't either.
