nobody has done much against harden, but he hasn't won a game yet because either the cubs don't score, or the bullpen implodes. harden is great but he can't go long into games, so really the goal against him has to be work the count and keep the game close.

Why? Maybe Lou will actually only pitch him every other day for a while. Because they don't need him to pitch this inning, they might need him tomorrow when it's closer and they don't want Howry or Cotts pitching in a crucial situation. he can pitch back to back days... just because he hasn't done it doesn't mean he can't.

i think that's probably it... this is a chance to get more of a look at samardzija in a low-pressure situation against some good hitters. it's not the worst decision in the world, as long as lou doesn't start throwing him in there 2 out of every 3 games.

Dude, those guys work for the Cubs. Sheehan doesn't. Z is not a 18 year old pitcher, he's a horse. Don't worry, Lou will take him out but this pitch count crap is getting ridiculous. It's not like he has thrown 160 pitches. this HAS to be dusty baker. No, I just probably know a lot more about Baseball then you. But carry on with those weak jokes. :thumbsup: just because you played the game and were in the on deck circle when hank aaron hit #715 doesn't mean you're more qualified to talk baseball than me, pal.

i'm not listening to them, but i'm pretty sure they're not saying it's a good idea to let your ace throw 130+ pitches after going for 124 his last start.

Shark was up at the end of last inning He shouldn't pitch, there is no reason why Eyre can't finish this out but whatever. or marshall or someone who doesn't pitch much. if you're not gonna use back of the bullpen guys with a 6 run lead then what's the point of even having them on the team?

these announcers are talking about how long lou's letting zambrano go and it being a reflection of what bad shape the cub bullpen is in. strange that they didn't have similar comments about sabathia throwing like 125 pitches last night.

abusing zambrano is different than abusing sheets... zambrano has been abused for years with minimal effects. sheets gets hurt all the time. that being said, i'm not thrilled that zambrano is gonna have back to back outings of ~120 pitches.

yeah i have been wondering how he has no errors on the year, but now i understand it. he's so inept with his reads that he just doesn't get his glove on anything that would require a running catch.

brewer fans' enthusiasm should be further tempered by the fact that sheets, who's always been fragile, is #3 in PAPs. that's similar to what dusty did to kerry wood in 2003... just asking for big-time problems at some point.

he can't take sheets or sabathia out of the game unless they've thrown at least 120 pitches.

fielding is why we beat them last year, and fielding might be why we beat them this year. these guys are brutal... fielder, weeks/durham and braun are probably the worst in the league at their positions.
