  1. yeah that's why we never win in the shoe... they don't make mistakes in the kicking game, we do.
  2. Don't start this crap, the refs miss call after call after call against Tennessee (two PI and an OFFSIDES) in the first half. IMO this is the refs evening up the score. it's the sec, we're supposed to make jokes about paying the refs/players that's an encouraging sign, one of the OL asking clark how many fingers he's holding up.
  3. i think alabama's check must have cleared
  4. i'm worried about the line play. our d-line has been doing a great job against the run, but they haven't been getting much pressure on pryor when he drops back to throw. clark has been under a lot of pressure and has gotten away with a couple of dicey throws, and our run blocking has been pretty average.
  5. worse yet, it would very likely be them versus usc in the rose bowl. yeah, everyone wants to see that again.
  6. dammit royster, cut it upfield
  7. running into the kicker?
  8. Wanny! A ranked Dave Wannstedt team is always due for a loss. I was hoping they'd hold out one more week. Now we're gonna be favored next week, so Pitt's got us right where they want us. What a weird team. pitt has a habit of inexplicable performances under the wannstache - both wins (at wvu last year) and losses (giving up 54 to a bad rutgers offense, home losses to bowling green earlier this year and navy last year)
  9. yeah you guys must be terrible
  10. rutgers' quarterback, mike teel, is not good. today in the first half against pitt he's 12-15 for 311 yards and 5 TDs.
  11. Tell me about it, this sucks. Who outside of Michigan would rather watch Michigan/Michigan State? unfortunately if you live in big ten country, abc/espn think you don't care about any other conference.
  12. fsn pittsburgh teased me with the holy cross-lehigh game, letting me watch it into the early 4th quarter before switching over for the start of the slippery rock-california university of pennsylvania barn burner. i'm also not thrilled with espn/abc.... yeah i don't want to watch the #1 team in the country take on the #6 team, instead let's see two pretty good acc teams play each other, and two big ten teams that lost last week by a combined score of 90 to 24. thanks guys.
  13. huh? kansas is 5-3 after this loss, they only need one more win to be bowl eligible. they should beat ik-state.
  14. UW doesn't even have to "destroy' ND for it to be a feel good story. I would love nothing else to see Ty stick it to ND. Unfortunately, Ty is coaching the other team, so he can't stick it to ND in any way besides perhaps to float more ridiculous racism accusations. But maybe he can go interview for another job while still employed at UW, like he did when he zipped off during the bye week before his last game as the ND coach and interviewed at UW. You know, instead of recruiting. dude come on, you can dislike willingham for the job he did at notre dame, but how can you rip on him for talking to another school rather than staying in south bend to recruit for a school that everyone knew was going to fire him? Because you don't quit on the team it's your job to coach during the season and go out looking for other work. I'm all for people looking for other work after the season, and especially so if you're a small-time coach looking for a big-time job, i.e. the offers Brady Hoke is probably going to get once Ball State finishes the season. I'm fine with all of that. But during the season is a big breach of ethics to me. oh ok, silly ty for not showing loyalty to a school that wasn't showing him any loyalty.
  15. well the devils clearly are not as good as their record, they just lost at home to the flyers :-))

  17. i do a college fb confidence picks thing, and most weeks it's a mix of relatively easy games, moderate-confidence games and then a handful of tough games to pick, but this week is the hardest i think it's ever been: texas tech @ kansas (-1.5) minnesota (-1.5) @ purdont cincinnati (-2.5) @ uconn boston college @ north carolina (-2.5) wake forest @ miami (-2.5) okie st @ texas (-12) georgia @ lsu (-1) virginia tech @ florida st (-5.5) ucla @ cal (-17.5) michigan st (-3.5) @ michigan aTm @ iowa st (-3) - what a terrible game, no idea why they're making us pick it alabama (-5) @ tennessee penn st (-2) @ ohio st oregon (-3) @ arizona st usc (-15.5) @ arizona UGH. three relatively easy picks (usc, cal, texas) and then the next easiest line is florida state -5.5? plus there are a large number of road teams that are small favorites. at one point i was going to be putting 11 confidence points on iowa st, but then i realized how awful they are so i knocked it down. i came up with: 15 on cal 14 on usc 13 on texas 12 on florida st 11 on oregon 10 on cincinnati ](*,) 9 on lsu 8 on miami 7 on michigan st 6 on ohio st 5 on iowa st 4 on kansas 3 on boston college 2 on purdont 1 on tennessee
  18. i'm only looking at this thread every five days or so to see how rich hill did.
  19. corner outfield, assuming that the cubs don't have any idea how to fix fukudome
  20. I would run for anything but wouldn't lie. Its been my experience the people who are good people and don't try to be like most politicians end up winning because he is actually truthful. We've come to a time when people are sick of how politics are and tend to vote (normally not in a presidential race or governor race) for the person they believe is most trustworthy. Then again I have almost always risen to a leadership role in whatever I do (radio station, sports etc.). I don't feel right unless I am leading (doesn't mean I have to be in control I tend to be a relaxed leader who just directs people and not order). My past if it still exists would be a bad one. I was a pretty bad kid despite being raised in middle class with parents who taught us all the good things. I smoked from ages 10-11 and got caught stealing twice when I was 11 (first time the manager just happened to be walking back in from a break when I ran out, second time I was just stupid). I never smoked again until I was 18 (smoked for about 6 months and then quit) and have never stolen since the second time I got caught.
  21. how does the first base ump call no swing on that??? just brutal.
  22. i remember in the emerald bowl a couple of years ago, navy had a 26 play drive and also didn't score a touchdown. that drive took about a full quarter off the clock.
  23. the guy that does those is incredible.
  24. Purdue played some games against some very strong competition in Australia over the summer. All reports from that indicate that Moore showed a stronger ability to create shots for himself than he did as a freshman. I think he was a little tentative for the majority of his first season. Part of that probably had to do with the fact that his ball-handling skills weren't anything great. It sounds like he's really improved that part of his game, and that's one of the reasons I can see him really taking off this year. Like you said, Hummell is a player. I'm curious to see how he builds off of his success as a freshman, since he was a strong all-around player. It wouldn't surprise me if he really improved his rebounding numbers this season. Moore averaged 27 points per game against the Australian teams. It should be noted they didn't play other Australian college teams they played the professional teams and went 2-3. Morgan or someone from MSU will almost have to be on first team because they will finish in the top three. I wouldn't just pencil them in the top 3. Purdue is better than them. Wisconsin will be in the top of the conference, they always are and Bo rents Izzo's butt out each year as he owns him. Ohio State has as much talent as they do. I do think that MSU will be at the top, but I do not think they are a lock to finish above any of those teams. I think it goes: 1. Purdue 2. Michigan State 3. Wisconsin 4. Ohio State/Minnesota hey where's penn state??? ahahahaha just kidding, they're #9 or 10.
  25. the defense wasn't great, but niittymaki and biron both were bad too. plus the sharks are one of the best teams (if not the best) team in the nhl. it's not just tonight, we haven't won a damn game yet. given our schedule, we may have already elected a new president before the flyers get a win.
