  1. holy cross lost to safety school yale... that's 6 losses in a row for us after a good win over st. joe's. we suck.
  2. I was trying to remember if you were a Charger fan. Obviously I knew you were an Eagle fan, but couldn't remember if you cheered for SD too. I don't hate Norv Turner (as long as he stays far, far away from the Titans and Vols - except as an offensive coordinator), but I find it hilariously awesome that he replaced any coach at all - much less one as great as Marty Schottenheimer. i think schottenheimer is the reason i hate norv turner - i have always been a defender of marty, especially when people were saying that anyone would be better than him after they lost to the patriots (when some moron fumbled on an INT return - marty's fault apparently).
  3. you didn't talk to me apparently. i said all year that auburn was better than oklahoma. the biggest advantages they had were in the backfield, o-line and secondary, and jason campbell was better than white (though most people didn't think so at the time).
  4. "he is a shifty, shifty guy." "tease every year with job openings at other schools." "Slip out of Atlanta in the dead of night leaving only notes behind to tell your players that you've left two days after guaranteeing to your owner's face that you won't leave midseason" plus there was the continual flirting with auburn, as well as other jobs, then leaving for atlanta just a year into a new contract at louisville. if you're firing nutt because of character you don't turn around and hire an even bigger snake in the grass.

  6. yep. you almost saw one of those rare times where fouling every possession actually works in the final minute well it doesn't help to just keep giving tech a free quick dunk every time down the court.
  7. and to replace him they hired.... bobby petrino.
  8. Yes, his last name is Pringle. I believe there was a plethora of "Once you Pop, you Can't Stop" jokes. Good stuff. our trivia name one week was "these pringles taste too salty" penn state wins despite their best efforts... shocking to see them actually win a good non-conference game.
  9. i think there are also some programs that recruit more players that fit their system rather than players that are highly-regarded by the national publications. texas tech and west virginia (under dick rod) are two programs that have had consistent top 25 success without "great" recruiting classes. i don't think you can be a consistent national championship contender like usc, lsu, ou, texas or osu if you aren't pulling top 10 classes year after year, but you can be in that next tier of schools.
  10. i'm 6'4" and white, maybe i can play for indiana? or did my college swimming use up my ncaa eligibility?
  11. nobody. cares.
  12. it's weird how much i hate norv turner. i really don't care about the chargers, yet i hate norv turner more than anyone else in football right now.
  13. it probably depends on who they bring in to replace him, but i don't think tuberville will be out of a job for long.
  14. penn state's leading scorer supposedly beat off in a library last year.
  15. i'm basing my opinion on watching Ball State this year and knowing that they aren't out-recruiting Notre Dame, Purdue, or even Indiana in-state. so we are still basing our opinion of teams based on recruiting rankings? in that case, utah never beat michigan or pitt and boise st never beats bcs schools either. hell, washington probably beat byu this season. (okay that last one almost happened)
  16. and after reviewing how much it would cost to buy out weis' contract, i'm guessing.
  17. so why would someone like that get denied but jason white would get 15 years to play at oklahoma?
  18. Penn State's Sean Lee got a medical redshirt for this season (and he's a senior). Do you have to apply for it prior to your senior season? pretty sure meph is wrong (gasp!) No, He's not eligible for one because he was non-medically redshirted in 2004 by the Zooker. Had that one been a medical redshirt as well, he would have been eligible to petition the NCAA for a sixth year. Lee's medical redshirt was just an old-fashioned redshirt. There really is not such thing as a medical redshirt. You can petition the NCAA for extra ones, provided they're all medical related. ok so i guess what you are arguing is semantics. technically it would not be a redshirt, but he could petition the ncaa to be able to play ncaa football again next year, and he'd probably win (if he didn't play in the SEC championship game or the bowl game).

  20. hahaha oh damn i wish i could find that, it seriously was the funniest thing ever ask and you shall receive (i'm somewhat stunned that this still exists, i would've thought that since it was hosted on duke.edu that it would've been taken down long ago) he graduated from duke in 3 years. wonder who was doing his homework for him.

  22. please, please, please tell us that you were joking around here.
  23. i was just in ottawa.... rogers seems to be the only cell provider and cable tv provider. they're comcast, except a 1000 times stronger.
  24. oh and the game also included what i think might have been the worst 5-minute boarding call i have ever seen. nhl referees are clown shoes.
  25. hahaha, scott hartnell is an idiot. with about 20 seconds left in regulation in a 3-3 game, a point shot by a flyer got blocked and set tampa on a breakaway. hartnell was chasing from behind and had lost his stick, so he threw his glove at the tampa player. it didn't even prevent the guy from getting a good shot away and it gave them a penalty shot after biron made the save. luckily biron saved the penalty shot, but what a brain fart.
