  1. no and his stolen base percentage in the bigs is 76.8%, there's nothing wrong with that. There's a lot wrong with that. Isn't 75% the break-even point? yeah that's why his comment makes no sense.
  2. no and his stolen base percentage in the bigs is 76.8%, there's nothing wrong with that. yeah he sucked at it last year but i'm not going to knock down his OBP last season because nobody gave him extra credit for his success in stealing bases the previous year.
  3. ncaa expands the tournament field
  4. we have 11... if we get one more that will round it out. Anyone who's interested and will stick with the league for the entire season, PM me.
  5. If it's successful the tying run is in scoring position. and if it's not you're down to your last out and need a home run to tie it.
  6. a double steal with 1st and 2nd and 1 out? terrible.
  7. http://newyork.yankees.mlb.com/nyy/components/ballpark/seating_pricing_full_game_plans.pdf the highest price listed for field-level seats is $325 per seat, or $26,500 for the entire year. that doesn't include the "legends" seats which are right at field level and start at $500, which is $40,500 for the entire year. apparently the most expensive seats, the front row seats at field level, are $2,500 per seat, which is $202,500 for the year. needless to say, i won't be attending any games in these seating locations.
  8. Really? I thought people were down on turning Pie and Cedeno into another inconsistent reliever making millions. Personally, as somebody who has been hearing Mets fans do nothing but bitch about the guy for years now, I'm not all that enthusiastic about his tenure. this just in, a lot of fans are idiots. he was really damn good from 2005-07; if people were bitching about his performance then that's because they remembered a bad outing somewhere along the way and let it skew their opinion of the guy. if he pitches like he did last year then sure, we'll all hate him, but there's a pretty good shot at a return to form. a better hell of a lot better chance that he can provide a meaningful positive contribution to this team than olson or cedeno. also, cedeno sucks and pie probably sucks too, so not much lost there.
  9. man i just read through the first few pages of this thread for the first time... if that's not evidence that people will dump on hendry for anything then i don't know what is. people are treating olson like he's some great pitcher, not a guy who got clobbered last season and doesn't have an out pitch. BA ranked him as baltimore's #12 prospect going into last season and their system was pretty much regarded as average. i'm not hendry's biggest fan, but jeez, have some perspective folks.
  10. why would he have had more value than that? he wasn't all that highly regarded as a prospect before last season, and he was horrible as a starter with the big club. he has a nice fastball and not much else. at least heilman had three really good seasons as a reliever before he tanked last year. they traded a guy who might be average for a backup middle infielder, and a guy who's unlikely to become an adequate starter, for a guy with a rubber arm and a track record as a good relief pitcher. sounds good to me.
  11. cincy lost their last three games - they got blown out at syracuse, lost at south florida and then home against seton hall. i'd guess they're just not playing well right now and that's why they won today. it'd be the greatest thing ever if depaul won the big east tourney, but the odds of that happening are like 10000 to 1.
  12. soriano hit a 2-run homer in the 2nd, it's 4-0 now.

  14. your avatar? agreed!
  15. the orioles broke up a no-hitter in the 9th inning yesterday. and when i say the orioles, i mean matt wieters.
  16. if he wants to keep trying then more power to him, but i think he is more washed up than just about anyone trying to make a comeback.
  17. the most important part of that line is "vs Holy Cross"
  18. it's possible, but penn st basically is playing two road games in that situation.
  19. penn st could definitely lose to indiana
  20. it's called "keep launching threes and hope they start going in"
  21. I liked Cal, the first time through, I had them around 5-6 on my bubble, but took a 2nd look and bumped em out. i don't understand what your bubble is, you have 16 locks and 8 bubble teams, there are a lot more teams that make the tourney than that. Those are his protected seeds and then his top eight bubble teams. ah okay.

  23. DAMMIT, army had a 3 point lead at american in the last minute and gave up a three ball, then american made a free throw with 3.6 seconds left to win by one. if army had won we would've gotten them at home in the PL final; now we have to go to american and play the final. we beat toothpaste easily (61-44).
  24. i would like to remove tennessee from my locks. what a bunch of bums.
