  1. i was really hoping that hanley wouldn't get to bat.
  2. who's the other GRB person in the league? four of the five have GRB at the beginning of the name but the fifth one does not. seems pretty even so far, GRB people are in 2nd, 6th, 7th and 10th.
  3. Except both of those would suck, no? yeah and you'd probably end up pissing your pants at some point too
  4. that's awesome, but marmol really needs to stop walking so many guys. last year's walk rate was manageable; this year's is not.
  5. just keep changing pitchers until you find someone who actually can throw strikes with some degree of regularity.
  6. worse than a walk per inning for our best relief pitcher.
  7. if denise richards' rack is real then props to her parents for those genes.
  8. congrats neal, your WHIP is now down to a sterling 2.67.
  9. the only time theriot ever hit a no-doubter was in little league.
  10. cotts is completely worthless. learn to throw the ball across the plate you loser.
  11. Well he did it. The money is relatively close to even. no it's not. derosa is making $3.3M more than miles this season.
  12. 6.24 walks per 9 innings? good Lord that's bad.
  13. i think it's even more comical that a team with a $120M payroll is regularly using one of their starting pitchers to pinch hit.
  14. In partial defense of our pitchers.... walks seem to be up this year all over MLB. I wonder if they've put some pressure on the umpires to call the strike zone as it's described in the rules ???? If that were the case, shouldn't walks be down? The called zone is tighter than the rule book zone. But if they cut out the outside without calling the high strike (which they're certainly not calling) then the zone shrinks correct. but the cubs are either worst or second worst in MLB in walks per 9 IP, so even if walks are up league-wide, the cubs are still issuing too many walks relative to the rest of the league.
  15. In partial defense of our pitchers.... walks seem to be up this year all over MLB. I wonder if they've put some pressure on the umpires to call the strike zone as it's described in the rules ???? if they are then they should start calling the letter-high ball over the plate, and as far as i can tell, nothing above the belt is ever a strike.
  16. 96 walks in 191 innings pitched - that's 4.5 per 9 IP. friggin awful. the orioles were worst in baseball last year, 4.34 BB/9 IP. someone needs to fix this ASAP.
  17. i see we're trying to take the league lead for walks allowed.
