  1. he was double switched into the game.
  2. so blanco and two hitters in bad slumps. i'm feelin it.
  3. lou please stop playing miles, he's not hitting and hasn't hit all year.
  4. on the plus side, we finally got their aaron miles out.
  5. man i thought delmon young was going to be really good, but he sucks.
  6. 06/02 - 06/13 AB R H 2b 3b HR RBI BB SO BA OBP SLG OPS BABIP P/PA IsoD RBI% Soriano 46 4 8 3 0 2 2 6 12 0.174 0.269 0.370 0.639 0.188 3.71 0.095 0.000 how about since april 29?
  7. can't believe blanco ph for soto yesterday. what a fail.
  8. well i don't think he deserved it, but von joshua is really good, so bully for him.
  9. look i think the guy will be a solid player. not necessarily what people thought he could be after the (TL-inflated) 2007, but a .275-.280 EqA CF who adds 10 runs or so with the glove. i just don't see him as an elite defensive CF or a great offensive player. but if he's as good as grady sizemore with the glove and 80% the offensive player, i'd sure as hell take that if i were a cards fan.
  10. that might light enough of a fire under them to win 50 games.
  11. i don't know if he will go in the crapper or not, but how come we get threads like this when a guy who starts out good goes into a slump, but we don't get threads like "fontenot getting back to last year's solid production" when he comes out of his funk?
  12. I seem to remember people saying that he likely would have normal splits but not be a terrible hitter against LHP. I think Lou trusts Kosuke more than the other Cubs left-handers against LHP. You can see it by who he pinch-hits for more often in that situation. But Kosuke is going to have a hard time starting against many LHP because the Cubs have three OF's who all normally hit left-handers very, very well. true. i guess my biggest problem is that you're not going to have good success against LHP when your manager plays you very sparingly against them. to make it worse, kosuke tends to bat most frequently against LOOGYs in the middle innings before lou wants to make a change; most SP have less severe splits while a lot of the guys that kosuke ends up facing are pitchers who are in the major leagues simply due to their proficiency at getting LH batters out. so he ends up facing only difficult major league LHP, so of course he looks awful against them.
  13. they certainly earned this "cobs" in the thread title.
  14. it's pretty tough to give up 2 runs in 3 out of 4 games and have a 4 game losing streak.
  15. that sucks, hope he is okay. vitters is 0-1; he was bumped from 3rd to 5th in the lineup. daytona was (shockingly) postponed.
  16. Why in the hell does anyone carry around 3 ounces of weed? You can't smoke that much in a week if you're an enormous pothead. http://usversusthem.files.wordpress.com/2007/12/newton-munchies.jpg
  17. the fail is strong in these cub prospects.
  18. apparently the flyers may be going into next season with ray emery and "rebound rob" esche as their goaltenders. vomit.
  19. so in the 2009 international free agent market, the cubs have signed a dong and a wang?
  20. Every bounce that went Detroit's way in Games 1/2/5 finally went the Penguins' way tonight. It happens detroit didn't need many bounces in game 5.
  21. pittsburgh finally breaks that five month title drought.
  22. i'm going to assume this is just speculation and is untrue, because if i knew it to be true, i might have to drive to chicago and personally strangle hendry.
