  1. I believe you mean a HR short as it certainly looks like he has a triple. That said, I'm a fan. yep brain fart. wallach had 7 BBs against 2 Ks, awesome peripherals there.
  2. jae-hoon ha is a triple short of the cycle in the 5th inning, and it's worth noting that he hit .317 in full season ball at age 19. granted, he doesn't have many secondary skills, but reports are that he is a plus defender in CF and should be projectable to develop power at that age. seems a lot like castro in many respects - good athlete, excellent contact skills, hitting for good average against older competition, good projectability, premium defensive position, poor patience. very underrated prospect IMO.
  3. al alburquerque was called up today by the tigers. wasn't he terrible in the low minors for us like 2 years ago???
  4. glad you posted this, i completely forgot/didn't realize that they were doing a webcast.
  5. How in the hell does Daytona be the one that doesn't get rained out? it's florida in april.
  6. well this will be a boring evening of minor league baseball, all games except for daytona's were rained out.
  7. except gonzalez is in shape and can actually field his position, while prince is a whale whose position will be "should DH" within about 3-4 years.
  8. Welcome back Jersey. That's very possible, although he's been pretty good in his last 700 of those 2000 PA. And he's showing signs of improvement in all the major categories. But it very well could be a mirage-there's no doubt about that. He needs to put up about 2 more seasons of good numbers to really be trusted. he also had a home run per fly ball rate that was up in ryan howard/mark reynolds territory, which can't be expected to last.
  9. But the game being decided by a flagrantly incorrect call does not subtract from your enjoyment?
  10. Also the ability to have a nightmare hole once in his life instead of once like every 9 holes
  11. guess we are never going to be able to spell dr frasier crane/sideshow bob's name correctly.
  12. :D I hope Jackson stays all year at Tennessee. Is Iowa really necessary? I mean, these past two games he has faced Archer & Moore. Is he going to see guys w/ that good of stuff at Iowa? Is there any difference in the jump from AA to AAA? Keep this group together until September, IMO. More at bats for everyone =P you tend to face better prospects at AA while the guys at AAA are older hangers-on who are probably (on average) better than the prospects at AA, but won't be better for long. my guess is that if jackson went to iowa, he'd see pitchers who are more polished with better command, but worse stuff.
  13. the worst batting average in tennessee's lineup is .333
  14. i'll consider it a moral victory if the sixers win a game.
  15. didn't edit them once. maybe you were reading the wrong thread?
  16. vitters added a double. jackson got thrown out of the game in the 5th inning, presumably for arguing a caught stealing.
  17. beeler and kurcz both sucked. vitters has another walk =D>
  18. the hint is in the first word of her job title.
  19. Too bad the OP doesn't know the difference between "they're" and "there." clearly he or she didn't pay attention during they're grammar classes.
  20. the first post in this thread nearly made my head explode.
  21. vitters and lemahieu both have a long way to go before their offense is passable at 1B and 3B, respectively.
  22. Best news of the day on the farm, with apologies to Brett Jackson. Glad to see I'm not the only one still holding out hope for him. i think pretty much everyone is holding out hope for him; he was the #3 pick overall and played much of last season in AA at 21 years old. he's had some struggles but it's not like he's been completely overmatched at each level. this is a big year for him, though - he needs to start showing more patience and stop getting himself out on pitcher's pitches just because he can make contact with them. and he needs to improve defensively as well.
  23. hopefully people will shut up about the cubs not getting hits with 2 outs.
