it would/will be pretty frustrating to lose in a game where we outhit the pirates so badly, just kept failing with RISP and got boned over by an incompetent umpire. thankfully we're running away with the division. i'd be [expletive] bricks if this were a playoff game though.

the only possible argument against this, i think, is that baez' hand didn't hit the front corner of the plate but rather was on the pitcher's mound side of home plate. you can't physically see his hand on home plate, but he if did get his hand on a line toward the front corner of the plate, he was definitely safe.

he has very little seniority and is damn near blind, so i can't see him being put on a playoff crew.

i think the pirates are down to two relievers? one of them is locke, who should be able to pitch for a while since he was a starter, but he also sucks so it's unlikely that he'd pitch for very long because the cubs would walk off in the first inning or two that he pitched.

2-for-14 with 10 LOB, and still have 5 runs. we could definitely use a better lefty bat off the pine to face tough RHP in the playoffs. guess that would be coghlan? or la stella if he's not on strike any more.

they should put tripp gibson on a crew with cb bucknor, laz diaz and angel hernandez, just so that the worst umpires are isolated to one series and you know going in that the umpiring will be infuriating throughout the series.

oh look, the outside strike is back. this guy is abysmal. really would not blame maddon or anybody for melting down on him and getting tossed.

i really hope that our bullpen of doom is healthy for the playoffs so that travis wood only pitches in long relief when we have a 15 run lead.
