Well, if they get 700 PA out of LF, I'm not sure they think Floyd would give them anymore than 300, in which case Murton would have 400 there, and probably another 50-75 in pinch hitting opportunities and starts elsewhere. Murton still loses plate appearances from last year. I just don't see the point. He actually was solid last year, with a .365 OBP in just his first year, and I think he could be a good regular for years to come (not to mention a cheap regular). I don't understand taking ABs away from him with a guy like Floyd. I think a more versatile guy in the OF who is more a 4th-OF type than a guy who's going to expect 300-400 ABs, like Floyd will, is a better fit for the cubs.
