  1. No kidding.... when you've sent six first round draft picks to the NFL and the most accomplished one is either Trent Dilfer or David Carr, that's not saying much.
  2. 10 hours til treeman forfeits his pick and it's my turn!
  3. You mean the Rock em Sock em Robots tournament is cancelled?!? :wall: How about this: The Lions and the Raiders play 7 on 7 flag football. Winner gets the #1 draft pick. What if the game ended in a tie? not sure, but I know who the loser is in that game - the viewing audience
  4. Maybe he's doing this because his annual "shipment" doesn't arrive until April.
  5. Jeez I totally missed that pick... I was gonna take him this round
  6. regardless of their record and ranking this year, duke really doesn't impress me this year
  7. next year we do this with new rules so that guys who suck in real life (Juan Pierre) suck in roto as well
  8. 1B Justin Morneau 2B SS Rafael Furcal 3B Scott Rolen OF Carlos Lee OF Andruw Jones OF SP Johan Santana SP Justin Verlander SP Rich Harden RP Mariano Rivera RP yuck i hope i get some guys later who turn out to be good
  9. sophomore slump sophomore slump is bull crap, guys can have a bad year anytime. It just gets named that because some players have a lucky/fluky first year and then get noticed, and then they come back to earth their second year. Nobody talks about the "sophomore break out" when they do what Ryan Howard did this year.
  10. How's he a large injury risk? He didn't get hurt in high school or college and hasn't gotten hurt as a pro. He threw less than 100 pitches per start last year, and he wasn't abused. Also, he wasn't awful in the second half. His ERA was 4.54 after the all-star break - not good, but hardly awful. I'd also guess that some of it was hitting the rookie wall, since his previous max was 130 innings in a year.
  11. I dunno why some of those guys would flop - don't rookies usually improve, not get worse? And guys like Verlander and Weaver have been highly-touted prospects their whole careers, so I don't think they're really a flash in the pan. As for sleepers, I think anyone who has even average knowledge of baseball knows that Hill had a great second half last year, and Kendrick has been an amazing hitter in the minors. If people are sleeping on him, they're idiots.
  12. Wow, Durant is a beast. I have to say, if the Sixers end up picking #2, I wouldn't be too upset "settling" for him. I don't want freakin Joaquin Noah, though. In more important basketball news, Holy Cross beat American in a Patriot League shootout, 58-47, to go to 17-6 overall and 8-0 in the conference. The BIG game comes at once-beaten (by us) Bucknell next weekend. Gotta take care of business in a couple of road games before that one though. (yes i'm aware nobody cares)
  13. Sure beer pong is far better than Prince, but wouldn't you watch if it was a man racing a zebra? Or a Sumo wrestler against a hippo? I'd watch a sumo wrestler again King Hippo from Mike Tyson's Punch Out... that would be awesome if we could set that up.
  14. Hmm, is someone turning 21 on that day or something? :wink:Coincidence. Slugger's Groundhog Day 2007 drinkathon started 3 years ago. that would explain a lot of her posts :P
  15. it's wolf stannson, i knew we never shoulda let a damn cardinal fan in this thing
  16. whose friggin turn is it???
  17. me playing beirut (beer pong) and not watching any of the halftime show
  18. not so much... I'm a Eagles fan first, Patriots fan second, then there's a whole lot of teams I don't give a crap about, then there are the Cowboys and Giants. Though my Patriots fandom has waned since many of my relatives moved away from Massachusetts and I stopped going to school up there in 2000.

  22. well the super bowl is always overhyped and boring, so i'll go with spring training
  23. I refuse to answer the question, on the grounds that it contains a grammatical error that is a pet peeve of mine.
