I think it's because once you got past Mauer, Martinez and McCann, there really isn't that big a difference between the next 10 catchers. I saw three guys go off the board just now, and there are still at least four guys that I'd be fine with having as my starter.

Yes, I can imagine that. I find it hard to believe that any coach at a level as competitive as the NFL wouldn't notice the way a game is being called, and try to use it to their advantage. If your opponent is doing that and you're not, they get a big edge on you. I don't think there's anything unethical about pointing this out to your players.

I'd like to say that I completely approve of all of that. I'd like to say it's totally classless... so is hiring a lowlife like thuggins to lead a basketball program. When you hire someone like him, people are going to make jokes about it. LMAO! Like he's any more of a low life than half of the coaches out there. Give me a break. So, the guy got a DUI? Cincy was cited for lack of institutional control during his time there. The academic performance and rate of graduation of his players at Cincy was atrocious, and they recruited more guys with checkered pasts than any team I can think of. Give me a guy like Bob Knight, who might not be the most pleasant fellow, but he holds his players accountable in the classroom and in their personal conduct. Huggins has never done that, and has never shown an ounce of interest in running a program that is respected for the way the athletes conduct themselves on and off the court. That is what makes him a lowlife.

If the game isn't being called the way it's supposed to be called, you use that to your advantage. well what do you expect, it's the 12th round. Not like I'm gonna come up with Miguel Cabrera or something. I needed HR and RBI, he had 39 and 114 last year and is moving from a pitcher's park to a hitter's park. If he stays healthy he should have a big year.

I think DeRosa is pretty sure-handed and is probably better than average defensively for a 2B. I don't know about Weeks' range, but he's made a truckload of errors (more than 20 in under 100 games, 2 years in a row).

Yeah and I'm sure he can, but I'm also guessing that almost all of these guys were amazing RBs in high school and were heavily recruited as RBs. These aren't generic two-star players who don't have a future at RB and are forced to switch, these are guys who could start for most teams in the country. They aren't going to want to switch off of RB without a chance to prove themselves first. I guess we can also hope that the Reggie Bush case results in USC getting the death penalty from the NCAA :wink:
