I feel relief and dissappointment all at the same time.

 

Isn't that such a wierd sensation? I felt the exact same thing with Furcal. Two opposite emotions at the same time.

Interesting, too, that a Post-Dispatch headline today was "Burnett is the key to plans of Cards." Sounds familiar.

 

I wonder if that's pulled as quickly as the one on Chicagosports.com? :lol: :wink:

Oh, and uh, of course you have those that said:

 

"OMG, $12 MILLION!?????????? THAT IS 2 MUCH HE DA INJURY RISKED PITCHA. WOW FREE AGENT C IS RIDIC."

 

And then, an hour earlier, they were saying..

 

"HEY WAT DOES $11 MEAN IT IS ONLY $1 MORE DAN $10 MILLION SIGN HIM HE CAN HIT 100 WIT DA FASTBALL."

 

You're exactly correct. I have been reading over there and 99% of the board (I was the voice of reason, lol) was for Burnett. No everyone thinks he's a bum and will be injured. Typical fans I suppose...

I think this story is going to have more legs. Cards have a chance to up their offer.

The suspense is killing me.

 

If St. Louis offers a guaranteed fifth year (which, despite early reports, we did not), he's a Cardinal. No doubt in my mind.

I think they'll give 5 years just because the have to fill a SP, a 2b, and 1 or 2 outfielders and with the remaining FA's I just don't they can do that unless they sign Burnett.
