I really can't see Baltimore being interested in dealing him unless they can get a proven young player, such as Z. I wouldn't be willing to trade a former MVP, offensive stud at a generally weak position, especially at a contract that is below market value. I just don't see them trading a player like Tejada for prospects without getting a "sure-thing" player with decent major league success. That being said I would be all over Tejada in almost any deal. I wish we could have signed him a few years back, especially at that type of deal.

No way I give up Z AND Pie for anyone. period. Unless its Arod and the yanks pay 100% of his contract.

Oh I'd do it for Pujols...and pick up most of his contract to boot...

Bad thing is the Cubs would have to put in back in the outfield.

The Orioles will not trade Tejada unless absolutely blown away with at least 2 top players. He is the team leader with a reasonable contract for his production. The Orioles are trying to improve their team. They are going after Hernandez and/or Molina as a catcher. (Javey Lopez will be moved over to first.)

Angelos is not interested in a rebuilding and realizes that his market is competing with the Nationals and he must field a decent team to fill seats at Camden Yards.

I think he may see what the Marlins are doing and it may be the best way to go. Toronto is loading up so there are 3 teams the O's have to pass. I think this would be a smart move for the O's to make a move toward the future. Granted, smart and Angelos don't go together but they can't compete with the others right now....not even close.

I agree that that rebuilding might be in their best interest, but that's not Angelos style. They are pretty close to signing Ramon Hernandez. So, I'd say they aren't trading Tejada anytime soon to pursue a rebuilding phase.
