This can't be true. Any sane person would rather see Luna or Nunez out there if you're trying to save money at 2nd. If this happens, the Cards are a little spoiled by their unforeseen success at 2nd.

i think it's pretty much a given that he already did.

If he didn't, having the stadium destroyed is a pretty expensive length to go to.

If we're signing him to a minor league deal I think it's worth a shot. But if we're betting on him being our starting 2nd baseman I think it's terrible. What happened to that rumor about signing Bill Mueller from Boston and moving him to 2nd?

Can Billy Baseball really play second base? I kept hearing about moving him, and I know (think) he played some there in the past. Why wouldnt this move have been made already? It's not like he has the bat for 3rd base anyway.

Bret Boone at second with Devi Cruz as the back-up. I'm loving it!

Hector Luna would be the likely starter, if the season opened today, and he's pretty good.

This Hector Luna?

The one with a career 265/322/384 line? while that isn't horrible, I'm not sure it qualifies as pretty good.

2004 was a "Rule V" year. He had to spend the season on the Major League roster, despite not being ready. Toward the end of last year, he looked like he had a plan at the plate, and put up a .753 OPS. He's no all-star, but the Cards don't need an all-star at 2nd base. I'd feel pretty comfortable with him as a cheap 2nd baseman, if the Cards use their resources to beef up the outfield.
