Is this a game thread? Or a pissing contest?

It's a game thread.

Please don't make me play nanny tonight. :x

and Jeremi Gonzalez gives up 4 more runs this inning including Podsednik's first homer of the year.

if the White Sox pitching continues to shut down Ortiz and Manny, this is going to be a pretty short series.

This is why pitching is so important. Just because of Ortiz and the Red Sox hype people were lining up to dismiss it. Some of the articles written about this series (especially in Boston papers) were not only preposterous, but insulting to anyone who knows baseball.

What are the probable pitchers for the rest of the series?

Wells vs. Buehrle

? vs. Garcia

i think Wakefield is going in game 3 for Boston.

Hm.. It'll be interesting to see the outocme of this.

For all the hating by the media on the White Sox, I really don't see the Red Sox pitching doing so hot recently. We'll see how Chicago fares in Fenway however...

Embarrassments to endure before I die ...

(1) Watch my boyhood dreams evaporate before my very eyes in a gut-wrenching, nationally publicised playoff collapse. (Got it, 2003!)

(2) Get knocked from playoff contention by the Cincinnati Reds. (Got it! TWICE! 2004, 2005)

(3) Watch the Cards clinch on us. (Got it, 2005!)

(4) See Houston clinch against us. (Got it in 1997, relived it in 2005!)

(5) Suffer through a White Sox title run. (?)

Man, I don't need this.

I'm expecting a good game from the "fat sack of puss." Go Red Sox!

The Cubs wouldn't stand a chance against Wells....his control is too good. It will be interesting to see how the WSox approach him.

IF the White Sox don't let Ramirez or Ortiz beat them (easier said than done) this game may be more of the same.

I think a team that drops as many bunts as the White Sox do are going really frustrate Wells. But he has been Boston's most successful pitcher "in the clutch" so we'll see.
