Why don't the Reds just let Casey walk via FA & move Dunn to 1st?

They would have an OF of Griffey,Pena & Kearns. This way they don't have to move any of their OF'ers. Is what Dunn going to make in arbitration really strap them down so bad they can't go out & acquire more pitching?

Any other thoughts on the Reds situation for 06'?

First, Casey is signed thru 06. Second, the problem with that strategy is that while they'd probably like to get Griffey and Casey off the payroll, Dunn is the guy that is worth the most and can get them the most in a trade. If they trade Casey the most they're gonna get is a mediocre arm and an average prospect. If they trade Dunn, they have the potential to get 2 or 3 future difference makers. They would miss Dunn's production, but they would have a couple of high potential arms and could go out and sign a middle of the pack OF (or a 2B and move Freel to the OF fulltime), who could see a numbers boost at GABP.
