I think the East teams will all play near .500. That being the case, the Cubs need the Marlins to lose and to beat the Astros. But, you are absolutely correct in that the none of it matters if the Cubs don't win.

why even waste your hope on this team, they are poor. Cincinnati is 9 or 10 games under .500 consistently and they have beat the Cubs 7 out of the last 8.
