since the game is sooo good i'll throw in a side note. on the wgn telecast they had f1 racer don weldon? on and all they could talk about is the popularity of nascar and how good they were doing. that's kind of like bringing on a cub and talking all about how well the sox or cardinals are doing....nice job len= good prep!

i can't wait to update my rusch v. hill stats after this pathetic outing.

the excuse machine will be in full force after this one.

yes can i please hear from the posters that were arguing that rusch should be starting instead of hill because he was pitching better....i believe this will put him over a 10.00 era for his last 6 appearances. obviously it's harder to tell if veterens aren't ready for the majors

Honestly I was thinking he would turn it around. I think he needs 4 or 5 more strats to work the kinks out.

slot him in there for the rotation next year just to be on the safe side.

hill is 3-0 with 27 k's in his three starts since being sent down. i love the cubs.

Ha. Nice. But, for clarification, isn't Weldon an IRL racer?

Give up the weurtz AB with a bunt down 7....cool. You'd think he would have learned how to bunt by watching the other pitchers do it. Edited by CuseCubFan69

Sure it wasn't Dan Wheldon from the IRL? He's the guy that won the INdy 500 this year.

Who pinch hit, Cuse?

Wuertz went down bunting. You would think he would know how to bunt by watching the other Cub pitchers do it...wouldn't you? You learn a lot from watching a vet.

Len isn't even doing the game today. Dan Rhoan (sp) is sitting in for him.

The Dodgers have scored 19 runs so far this series against us. I bet they don't get a combined 19 runs in their next seven games. Pathetic.

Do you think Corey Patterson should play winter ball?

Better yet, maybe Baker should manage winter ball to brush up on some things. Never mind, he'd just play the 22 year olds over the 20- 21 year olds.

Do the Cubs have the right to make Patterson to play over the winter?

I don't think so. However, I don't know why Patterson wouldn't want to do it. I made the suggestion on here prior to his demotion. But, "It's just a game, you know."

Gameday shows the 4th pitch to Lee was an "Automatic Ball." For those of us not able to watch the game, can someone please explain what happened?

Slider outside and Lee swung and missed.

Okay, Santo has lost it. He said, "Perez has had a stellar year." I'm not one who thinks Perez is the devil, but stellar is not how I'd describe his season.

Not that it really matters, but that quote was later noted to be a misquote - "It's just THE game". Still doesn't help his OBP though!

How does Jose Cruz friggin Jr. become a stud against the Cubs?

How does every mediocre player become Babe Ruth against us? I don't know how it's possible. I've been told that we have one of the best starting rotations in baseball.

Speaking of the starting rotation, does anyone know if Ruschs' option is his, the temas' or is it mutual? Thanks in advance for the help.

the 2 sad things are that for neifi this is a stellar year and for this cubs team his year is also stellar. he has been the cubs 4th or 5th best offensive player for most this year. behind lee, aram, barrett and walker(when he was healthy) he has been betterthan burnitz except for burnitz' hot times....it is truly a sorry team that has perez as one of your best offensive players....he should be 25th(offensively) on any team he plays for!

Burnitz has been a terrible disappointment. But by no means can you say Neifi has been better. Also, Hairston has been better.

That's all he needs is to have another coach to tell him how to hit.
