Nothing happening right now in terms of NL WC contenders, but some games are still going on. Of note is the White Sox/Yankees game, which (if you can tolerate Tim McCarver) might see some fun times going on. Orlando Hernandez threw behind A-Rod's head and has been having some issues with the home plate umpire.

a bit after El Duque throwing behind A-Rod, McCarver said that El Duque will not be throwing at any Yankees because his bonus (of a couple hundred thousand dollars) will kick in after 3 1/3 innings and he wants to get it down today because who knows what will happen after today. Now is the White Sox that much of a scumbag organization that they'd sit El Duque over a couple hundred thousand dollars, or is McCarver just a Moran. I think it's the 2nd personally.

McCarver also had a creepy moment in the game. Geoff Blum was at 1st with Juan Uribe at the plate. Ozzie kept calling for the hit and run about six times in a row starting with a 3-1 count, but Uribe kept fouling it off. After the sixth one, Blum handed his helmet to the 2B umpire for a quick breather. McCarver said something to the effect of:

"Blum is so tired right now! He's handing his helmet to the umpire, but he also probably wants to give him some more of his clothes. That uniform is hot!"

Joey Devine made his debut with the Braves today in the 12th inning. He's the first player from the 2005 Amateur Draft to make the majors.

Threw a scoreless inning with 14 pitches, 11 for strikes, and a hit.

Not too shabby.

He did just give up a grand slam to Xavier Nady. Pads lead 6-2

Edit - missed out word 'up'

Big Choi knocks in the 1st RBI in a 2-run (and hopefully ongoing inning) for the Dodgers against those evil Fish from Florida.

Now 4-3.

4-4 now in Florida. I'm really starting to hate those Marlins. For everything to work out correctly, they need to lose a few games, too.

Sportsline must be screwed up. It says there's an injury delay in the Astros game, but the game's between innings right now.
