As in how far will the Cubs starting pitching go into the game.

Tonight we have Glendon Rusch making his first start since being sent back down into the bullpen.

His previous starts include:

MAY 07 PHI 4.2 82-51

MAY 13 @WAS 5.0 90-55

MAY 18 @PIT 6.0 99-59

MAY 23 HOU 8.0 108-69

MAY 28 COL 7.0 112-68

JUN 02 @SDN 9.0 122-81

JUN 07 TOR 6.0 104-60

JUN 12 BOS 5.2 114-79

JUN 18 @NYA 5.0 98-62

JUN 23 @MIL 6.0 103-62

My bet is on 5 IP with 90 pitches and 58 for strikes.

Five and two thirds. Four hits. Two runs, both off of a homer in the third.

Incidentally, if this does happen, it isn't voodoo, its luck.

Looks like we were a little over the mark.

3 2/3. 92 pitches, 61 of them strikes. So I guess I win on the pitchcount.... :(

We were all disappointingly optimistic about this game.

:(

Now to cruise back into pessimism for the rest of the series.

Well he turned out much better than most expected.

7 innings pitched, ONLY 70 pitches, 49 for strikes.

WOW. Whey 2 goe Maddux!

Looks like Mr. Wood is the winner for IP and strikes, and Dr. Cub for total pitches.

All 3 pitchers combined for 89 pitches.

Yes, but he doesn't have a title in his name like me and the good Doctor. Perhaps if he was Senator Treebeard or Reverend Treebeard he would get the recognition.

Don't give him any ideas!

My mistake. Awards will be assigned correctly next time.

And before the game gets going on too long, tonight we have Zambrano pitching.

I see...Ice cream. Covered with... chocolate sprinkles...Double-Stuff Oreos...He... He's taking the top of one and...and he puts it together to make Quadruple-Stuffs! I see...ice cream, and sprinkles, and Quadruple-Stuffs!

EDIT: But yeah. That was pretty cool. I also didn't think that Z should have started the ninth (and not just because I would look awesome), but I suppose that's like stopping a bull in heat. In all fairness, I did post it a half hour into the game. Although I hadn't been watching or listening or even Gamecasting.

I was gonna give myself the award by default, but I guess I ended up pretty close. Seriously, I posted that in like 5 seconds....I just randomly guessed. Pretty neat. Not as neat as back in the race though. \:D/

Out of curiousity, has anyone here ever won "How Far Did it Fly" on WGN?

My dad and I would change that to "The official WGN 'Who Let One Fly" contest? Harry, Steve, or Thom? Pick the one to turn green and pass out first!!"

Yeah, kinda immature, but it was male bonding. What more do you want? :P
