Another real tough loss. 4-straight 2-out hits in the bottom of the 9th.

By the way, Ron, feel better! That's gotta be scary.

Too bad people in west Tenn aren't aware of how great of a battle it has been between the Mudcats and Jaxx, it'll be a great playoff series

Maybe the DJaxx should play their home playoff games at Wrigley.

Only if the media cred will work!

Maybe they could get you into the booth to sing the 7th inning stretch.

I'm not sure, Ron does a great Harry Caray...

Sure does!

As I posted in Transactions, Pignatiello got the start tonight because Koronka was promoted to the big league club...

And it was a called third strike that Cedeno argued about and was ejected over.

Ouch again. I heard this one. Not much to say other than better now than in the playoffs and hopefully this will strenghten their resolve (or something).

Get better, Ron -- and don't skimp on whatever follow-ups there are.

Unfortunately for Boise, Taylor Teagarden decided to go buck wild on Mitch Atkins tonight. His line:

3/4, 3 R, 5 RBI, 2B (1), 2 HR (2), K

Ladies and gentlemen, we might have ourselves Khalil Green's heir apparent to the "What Could Have Been" award for a Cubs draftee who did not sign with the Cubs and found success elsewhere!

Looks like Kevin Collins could miss the last few weeks of the season for Daytona:

St. Petersburg Times[/url]"]LAND O'LAKES - Kevin Collins, the former Land O'Lakes standout who plays for the Chicago Cubs' Class A affiliate in Daytona, could be lost for the season with a foot injury.

This is the fourth season in a row that he has been hurt.

"It was hurting for a while, and they finally gave me a couple of days off," said Collins, who is tied for the team lead and tied for sixth in the Florida State League with 18 home runs despite having one at-bat in the past 13 games. "Then we were in a 13-inning game (a 6-4 loss July 25 to Dunedin) and I pinch hit. I hit a liner to center, and as I was running down to first, I felt something in the arch of my foot pop.

"Right now I have to wait and see what the results are after I go to Chicago and get an MRI. I'm in the best shape of my life, but I feel like I'm falling apart."

.................................

"Last season I think I would have hit at least 40 (home runs), maybe even 45, because when I came back, I had to hit with a shoulder brace for a week."

First time Ive had a chance to listen in this season and Ive gotta say I really like the way Ron works. People don't realize how difficult it can be to work alone and Ron makes it sound very easy, hopefully I do as well!!

and a great almost HR call on Creighton's double, and on the diving play by Carolina's outfielder that tied the game for West Tenn.

I do have a pretty good idea how hard it is to broadcast a baseball game by yourself. I done games before on the high school and college level and its a lot easier with a color analyst by your side. Even a bad one...

I really hope that Cedeno is our starting ss next season.

I agree. At least allow him to back-up Nomar and rotate in at 2nd base against left handers.

I was at the I-Cubs game last night and for the record Ronny's HR was absolutely CRUSHED - no cheap fly ball. Hard to tell once it got out of the lights but I'm pretty sure it cleared the ballpark.

He also flew down the line to break up a DP in his first AB. His defense was pretty shaky - but man do I love watching him play.
