Macias in CF...man I just can't stand Dusty. Wouldn't it be better to move Burnitz to center and put Murton in at left?

I don't think the Dusty era can end soon enough for me.

i'd love to see some dusty supporters try to explain how this move puts the team in the best situation to win.

That's my question too. So Burnitz is not an ideal defensive CF, but Macias is hardly a gold glove outfielder either.

Ok I've busted out my secret weapon: A) Nomar Garciaparra Cubs Jersey T-Shirt B) Believe bracelet C) Cubs Batting Practice cap.

It worked rather well opening day!

The batting practice cap is the greatest hat in the history of hats. I may have to bust it out too.

I think they should use the Bear walking through the C logo when they use the alternate jerseys.

It's Dusty, he'll always go out of his way to play his boys. I don't know why people are still acting so shocked.

Speaking of Cedeno there was a great comment about him on the Jaxx guestbook. Apparently he was signing autographs one night and took a couple of jerseys from a fan to the clubhouse and had the entire team sign them!

Don't feel sorry for Matt or Ronny. They are happy to be with the Cubs.

Actually I do feel sorry for Ronny. The Cubs are doing their best to screw up his career.

Oh come on, the Cubs have no intention of screwing up his career. He just isn't high on the 25 man pecking order. I'm sure if you asked him he would tell you he prefers sitting on the bench in the ML over spending time toiling in the Minors (playing everyday) but having a doubt in his mind about whether or not he will get another chance to play for the Cubs (arguably the fear of every minor league player).

Unfortunately sitting on the bench hinders his development, as he still has some things to work on. If he's not going to get regular playing time, then he should be in AAA. He's only 22.

His "develpment" will pickup where it left off when he becomes the Cubs everyday SS in 2006 (?) or beyond. Either he can play or he can't. There are guys who spend their entire career in the minors and never develop into ML quality.

Walker sure has been hitting the ball in the air a lot recently.

O'Nora with a rather generous outside corner in that top half.

this is just ignorant - cedeno has things that need to be worked on, and without regular playing time, he will not be able to do that. he needs to be playing in the majors or be sent down to the minors.

DLEE booed, I love it

even the best fans in baseball booed him

That was understandable considering he beat out their guy, what warranted NY to boo him.

That was cute :x
