Anything is possible, but this is looking pretty dim. We really don't have much of a chance for the Wild Card (8 back now) and like 6 teams to climb over. To give you an indication, even if we won 60% of our games from here on out we would finish 87-75. If the Braves just play .500 ball for the rest of the year they would have 90 wins.

Just have to hope for Washington to come back to earth and to collapse. Atlanta always finds a way to win, so you can pencil them into the playoff again. Every other team ahead of the Cubs isn't that good.

 

I think the first move needed is obvious. The second move is to trade for Dunn. The Cubs need a firing and impact player.

So, it is ok for a post under rants to talk about women being whoreish for wearing colored underwear under white pants, but I say I should be cursing at the Cubs and this is frowed upon? My use of the word damn is frowned upon?

 

Maybe I stumbled into the wrong place. I thought this might be a place for men to hang out and discuss manly topics, mainly, why the cubs suck so much this year. Geez.

That was a pretty standard welcome note for new posters, not a shot across your bow. We want new posters like yourself to fit in quickly with a minimum of difficulty. A quick read of the FAQ is helpful for most new members. As to your question, NSBB is a site where people of all ages post, and we try to keep things civil, and thus, swearing is frowned upon. Saying the word damn isn't a high crime, but it's not really needed. The Rants forum is a place to vent steam, and sometimes things get quite heated there.

 

Now, to answer your unasked question, when I'm watching the Cubs blow a game, I swear loudly at the television. So, please, feel free to discuss why the Cubs have been terrible. It's something that is being talked about quite a bit.
