Anecdotally it feels like he has "one bad inning" disease, so I'm really hopeful that at some point things are going to click and he'll just take off.

Honestly for the rest of this year I'm looking at him building innings and seeing the 5th/6th more often as much as I'm looking at rate performance.

The Cubs enter the season with what most consider to be a bottom third (and worse) system, and you'd think that in a year like that, someone like Jose Escobar would be stealing a lot of the hype like the Cubs have had in the past. Someone like Luis Devers a few years ago or something had that kind of bubble up. He's 21, moved up to South Bend, has a 136 wRC+ with great contact skills. He's like a prime guy for that hype in a system that came in for the kind of hype to get the attention. But there have been so many other good years and bubble ups that he's kind of been a footnote.

Like Wiggins I think no matter how high you are on him the short term hope for MLB contribution has to top out in relief
