another terrible game. Are we ever going to win another game again?

now 5 games out in the WC hunt, i dont even want to know how far were out of the division.

Abou 10 games, or so.

I think the Cubs should FORGET about trying to acquire anybody at the deadline, especially if they lose the series in Atl and Florida, which I should suspsect will happen. This team ain't making the playoffs, heck the Cubs goal in the 2nd half, is to make it look like they give a darn.

I missed the game, and the recap on Cubs.com is pretty weak...

Burnitz got picked off AGAIN?! How'd that happen?

Hairston was on base three times, yet Corey is going to start tomorrow?!

Hollandsworth hit a single up the middle, Burnitz took a wide turn around second, slipped, and was caught in a rundown.

I almost went down to Atlanta for this game. I'm glad now that I didn't.

Poor Vance. Hope Baby Addison is holding up ok in the rain.

I've traveled extensively to see this club play at home and on the road over the last five years. It got pretty damn hard to shell out the cash toward the end of Baylor's reign, and now I've reached the same point with Dusty - what's the point of driving six hours one way to watch his garbage?

Wrigley's worth the trip regardless, but there's not much motivating me to visit the road parks right now.

Ah okay. I was thinking that he got picked off again like the other day.

Well, let's get em tomorrow! Oh wait... Corey is starting tomorrow. So that means that Hairston wont start. I'd be pretty pissed if I got on base three times for two straight games and then didn't start the next day.

I have a pair of tickets for the July 23rd game in St. Louis. I'm not saying that I'm ready to sell the tickets, but St. Louis is a long drive to make if the team isn't playing well.

I've driven to plenty of games featuring rebuilding Cubs teams, and had plenty of fun - but it's no fun at all to watch idiotic managing with one of our best starting staffs ever being wasted.

A Shane Andrews loss isn't nearly as aggravating as one endured with real talent on the field.

Agreed. Cubs/Cards games at Busch have always been a great time, so I'm looking forward to the trip even though it's a long drive.

Hmmm, I went to the Peoria Chiefs 21-2 spanking, and spent some time getting rained on. I'm pretty sure that I still made the better choice than watch this game... :(

Well, I just got back to my hotel room in Atlanta. Boy, they sure did have a nice fireworks display and tribute to America on the Jumbotron at Turner Field. Made me feel all warm and fuzzy about the 4th of July !

I'm sure you liked the altered pictures of the Cubs as well!

They talked about the jumbotron during the broadcast, they said it was the largest in any stadium in the world.

It's special because it's HD.

Why did I know that the Cubs wouldn't be able to hit against a weak pitcher and our "ace" would be less than dominant against a battered Braves' lineup? It's getting really hard to be a Cubs fan right now. Except for D-Lee and A-Ram, no one is living up to expectations, and the daily onslaught of Corey and Dusty must go is getting tiresome. The all-star break can't come soon enough...
