the OF should be Cabrera, Andruw Jones and Abreu

That was my ballot. I think fans need to remember that the game determines homefield for the WS...so fans really should pick the guys performing the best to give their league a better chance at winning.

I think the voting process is a joke. It's a matter of time before a team's fans figure out how to hijack a vote and vote in the worst possible playeres for the opposing league.

Wow. I never even thought of that. That would be a great idea if our team was in contention for the WS...

Well, at least the guys who deserved to start at SS and 3B for the NL made the team.
none of the cardinals starters should be there. the outfield should be abreu in center and Carlos and Miguel on the corners. Felipe Lopez should be at SS. Aram or Morgan Ensberg should be at 3B. What a farce.

Are you referring to Carlos Beltran? He has been pretty average this year. If you're keeping guys at their positions, the OF should be Cabrera, Andruw Jones and Abreu; if you're playing guys out of position then put Jason Bay or Abreu in CF. I don't have as much of an issue with Edmonds starting because he has at least been good this year and hasn't been much worse than Andruw Jones. Rolen is not even close to ARam, David Wright or Ensberg (the latter two got left off) and Eckstein is way, way behind Felipe Lopez. Even Bill Hall deserved to make it ahead of Eckstein. Cesar Izturis doesn't belong on the team, either.

I'm assuming by Carlos he is talking about the one playing in the far north Chicago suburbs.

yes carlos lee should be starting. Carlos Beltran should be a cub.

Yeah. Carlos just happened to have the hottest streak of his career on the biggest stage. He is good, but very overrated, and not nearly worth the contract he got.

As for the ASG, the NL outfield should have been Abreu/Jones/Cabrera or Lee. No way does Edmonds belong in the game. In fact I could list 10 outfielder more worthy, based on this year. I have to say Eckstein deserves to be ther more than Izturis, who has gone in the tank after his hot start.

I don't have a problem with Edmonds being a reserve, but a starter? C'mon! At least the AL fans got their voting right!

Rolen has no business even being on the roster. Both Ensberg & Ramirez should be there.

Eckstein as SS,Pujols as DH, Carpenter & Isringhausen as reserve pitchers I have no problem with. All 4 of thses guys have earned these spots.

Yeah, ensberg got absolutely robbed....anyone remember when S. Pippen was voted into the all-star game when he was injured the whole first half? There should be a non-fan all-star voting process in all sports..

No cubs pitchers.

We have "the best (starting) staff in baseball" and not one all star.

*sigh*

The sad thing is that none of them SHOULD be there this year. *sigh sigh sigh*

It appears a lot of anti-Cardinals bias is showing.

Among NL outfielders, Jim Edmonds is #5 in OPS. So, I'm interested in the 10 other outfielders who are more worthy than Edmonds this season. Sure, Andruw Jones probably should have started in centerfield, but it's not this huge injustice that people are making it out to be.

The difference between Edmonds' OPS and Abreu's OPS is only .28 points. The difference between Aramis' OPS and Ensberg's OPS is .53 points. But I highly doubt people would be outraged if, hypothetically, Aramis Ramirez was starting at 3B over Morgan Ensberg this season.

Going into today's games:

Hafner- .300/.405/.538

Konerko- .243/.350/.482

Hillenbrand- .303/.367/.450

Whose starting the game for NL/AL??

Willis would be my guess for the NL.

Buehrle for the AL?

When will the official decisions be announced??

Not that you were attacking me, but not all of us have an anti-Cardinals bias. I said Edmonds deserves to be on the time, just not quite as a starter.

As for ARam versus Ensberg, I give you this:

Ensberg home: .320/.429/.639/1.068

Ensberg away: .260/.349/.547/.895

ARam home: .297/.350/.534/.884

ARam away: .304/.373/.587/.960

Ensberg has the better stats without taking park effects into account. But when you factor in Ensberg putting up monster stats at Dirty Energy Company Ballpark, I'd say ARam is having a slightly better year.

It wouldn't be a stretch to argue that David Wright would be almost as good as each of those guys if he didn't play half his games in Shea:

Home: .286/.360/.449/.809

Road: .297/.408/.547/.955
