Well, looks like MLB's released the names of 6 of the 8 players participating this year.

 

Dominican Republic: David Ortiz

Venezuela: Bobby Abreu

Puerto Rico: Ivan Rodriguez

Canada: Jason Bay

Curacao: Andruw Jones

Panama: Carlos Lee

 

The players for USA and Japan are both currently not confirmed. Derrek Lee declined his invitation due to his shoulder problem. Japan's player is unconfirmed at the moment.

MLB has just announced the Japan will be represented by So Taguchi.

 

Gooch has been killing the ball lately.

They should bring Big Mac out of retirement to represent the USA.

 

Give him the okay to pump up on roids a few days before the event and watch him hit some absolute bombs for old-times sake.

 

Remember him in the HR Derby in Boston? That was absurd.

So Japan has a handful of players playing here in the States and they get 1 representative in the HR Derby, while the entire US gets only 1 rep as well? That is some interesting Bud thinking. So much for America's game I guess!
