Any idea when we might see some of the draft picks popping up in the box scores?

Probably in the next week for the college hitters, maybe after the weekend for simplest travel logistics.  For reference, the draft started on the 11th last year, and Shaw appeared in the complex league starting on the 27th.  This year the draft wasn't til the 14th and the complex league is done this year, so they may give them a few backfields reps before jumping those guys to affiliated ball.

Yeah Tuesday being moving day, draftees getting assigned and the Shaw's of the world getting their overdue promotions, probably makes the most sense.

I think if the calendar had fallen differently in regards to the trade deadline it probably would have happened this week.

Jose Escobar walked, stole a base, and scored a run in the 2nd inning, tripled in the 4th, and singled in the 6th, Yahil Melendez (RBI single) and Joan Delgado (RBI triple) stroked consecutive two-out run scoring hits to highlight a four-run 2nd inning, and Brad Deppermann hurled three innings of perfect baseball with six strikeouts, leading the ACL Cubs to a 4-1 victory over the ACL Diamondbacks in Arizona Complex League Continuation Camp (East Valley Bridge Group) game action Thursday night at Sloan Park in Mesa, AZ.

Cam Smith (Cubs 2024 1st round draft pick - Florida State) and Edgar Alvarez (Cubs 2024 8th round draft pick - Nicholls State) made their pro game debuts. Smith served as the DH and went 0-2 with a walk and a strikeout (swinging on a 3-2 pitch on a head-high FB), and Alvarez went 0-3 with a walk and a run scored and made a couple of slick plays at 1st base. Ivan Brethowr (Cubs 2024 7th round draft pick - UC Santa Barbara) was in the original starting lineup (batting 5th and playing RF) and would have made his pro game debut alongside Smith and Alvarez, but he was scratched after pre-game warm-ups.

Alfredo Romero is also rehabbing in the ACL, along with Pablo Aliendo.
