Reinsdorf to meet with Illinois House leader

Quote

Sources confirm Reinsdorf will meet with Illinois House Speaker Chris Welch.

According to Crain's Chicago Business, Reinsdorf is preparing to ask Governor JB Pritzker and other state leaders for roughly $1 billion in public funds for construction.

It's kind of insane to me how there was massive backlash against the Ricketts and McCaskeys for asking for government funds for stadium renovations and relocation, but the least popular team in Chicago asking for a billion dollars has been met with a collective shrug so far.

Actually Jerry has gotten a lot of backlash at least on the Score. That stadium is only 33 years old, I know places like Atlanta and Texas got new stadiums after like 20 years. The White Sox biggest problem is Jerry, he needs to sell the team

When ownership presents the expected benefits a new stadium will bring to the city (which we know are largely BS to begin with), do they offset that by the negative impact a move would have on Bridgeport and its surrounding areas?  I'm guessing no.
