This is their best opportunity to win a game this series. I’m sure Ross has a rationale reason for that lineup. I don’t know what that reason is.

Since bogartin’ the game thread (Thanks Brock), Cubs are 1-4, losing 4 straight. Maybe it’s time for a different game thread starter. You know, change vibe.

I must have been watching a different game yesterday. The one where Wisdom hit 2 home runs.

I mean Mastrobuoni, Tauchman, Rios, Barnhart... My best guess is this pitcher has some severe R/L splits, but no major league team should be rolling a lineup out there with those 4 guys all in it on the same day.

Apparently, this pitcher has reverse splits and righties have a .917 OPS against him this year...

He’s a rookie, so it’s not a huge sample size, but the reverse split is pretty stark.  .917 vs RHB and .438 vs LHB.

So this lineup makes no sense at all.

The Cubs have 6 left handed hitters in the lineup. None of them have any hits. They have 3 right handed hitters in the lineup. All of them have a hit.

Ross has to be trying to get canned.  Maybe there's a DWTS reunion season coming up or something.

Does anyone on this board have connections to any beat reporter? I would love one of them ask Ross about this after the game.

So it takes a literal complete game shut out to actually win?

Why haven't we just been doing this every game?

With a run scored on an IF single, error and sac fly lmao

It's one thing for the manager to discount the splits due to fairly small sample size and field a semi-normal lineup, but it's quite another to lean hard into the exact opposite of what the splits are showing.

Congrats on Stroman having a no-hitter until the 7th!

Then after giving up the hit he locks down again and no more hits.  Very impressive.

I choose to ignore that and just be happy with Stro.
