With PCA to high-A, it sounds like Cole Roederer is headed to AA and Darius Hill to AAA.

Cole's been coming on a bit lately but wow. I wonder if this is a sign he's way outperforming the box scores and they think he's ready (e.g. Nelly getting the bump to AA last year) or if this is kind of a horsefeathers or get off the pot deal. Basically he's lost so much time he's gotta catch up or get left behind?

To be honest, I think it’s the latter. He’s already Rule 5 eligible this coming offseason.

2021 16th rounder Zac Leigh, who had a velocity spike last year after being drafted, is healthy and off to South Bend.

Really curious to see this one. I'd never heard of him and then Longenhagen put him in his Cubs top 30 and really gushed about him over the winter.

Per AZPhil, Frank Hernandez has hit .309/.361/.382 in EXST games, with only 6 Ks in 61 PAs. Already 20 though and only played the corners.

Riveting! With all these stud 21 YOs debuting this year (Julio Rodriguez, Bobby Witt, CJ Abrams, Michael Harris) I have few doubts the Cubs would like to join the party soon. Ideally with more than one

Dooooo it dooooo it

I'm all for being aggressive, but I'm not even slightly considering PCA who hasn't even touched A+ yet.

Do we know what Luis Devers throws? Because the numbers are top notch. I think I remember AZ Phil calling him out in March as a guy whose stuff ticked up?

Mid-90s fastball with a good curve but I do believe he ticked up this spring. Sounds like the command is fantastic.

Here’s where I got my Devers info from: https://northsidebound.com/2022/02/10/affiliate-sneak-peeks-myrtle-beachs-rotation-looks-to-young-and-legit/

Luis Devers, who we profiled a couple weeks ago, should also be back as he brings with him a mid 90s fastball and a nice curve.

He was 91-93 last fall before the increase in velocity and his change was decidedly his third pitch back then (per Arizona Phil’s fall write ups), so that would great news if his change has improved. Bryan Smith logged Devers Ks yesterday and the changeup definitely played a prominent role: https://www.bleachernation.com/cubs/2022/06/01/five-stars-of-the-cubs-farm-5-31-22-the-day-kevin-alcantara-hit-one-very-far-out-of-the-ballpark/
